About SIS Swiss International School Basel

SIS Swiss International School Basel has been putting the bilingual school concept into action – with excellent results. Today, about six hundred students attend this flagship location of SIS Swiss International School. SIS Basel has an unparalleled reputation as the ideal school for children and young adults with big plans for the future in a globalised world.

And this is a view shared both by Swiss parents and those who have moved to the neighbourhood from abroad. The two school languages, German and English, act as a bridge connecting the forty-plus nationalities represented under our roof – and this multicultural setting delivers a host of benefits to students, teachers and parents alike. We aim to foster a sense of community at the school in a variety of ways: weekly school assemblies, projects involving different class groups, and theme weeks on a variety of subjects.

Reading marathons, sports days, winter and summer festivals – all are firm fixtures on our school calendar, together with the celebration of local and international holidays and traditions.

It is a school where your kid learns nothing and the teacher doesn't focus on the kids who are struggling. The school's primary aim is to make the parent feel good till the kids are in school and once you decide to leave the school, you will see the real grade comparable to local schools. Please do not send the kids to this school, you will spend more money and your kids will learn nothing.

Overrated school, Money making machine, mentoring is a joke, unprepared teachers and lack of time to support kids struggling in class, tendency to blame fathers (and kids) for bad results, high drop off rate in the first school years. It was a big mistake to move my daughter from public school to SIS. She is not happy after 3 years.

My son has been going to SIS Basel for two years now. He is very happy. He loves teaching in both classes (e / d). Every morning he goes to class full of anticipation. Afternoon care is also highly recommended. Kudos to Ms Wioland and her team.

Terrific staff and growing enrollment, the strength of SIS is its bilingual program, with alternating German and English days. We have two kids here, now in 2nd and 5th grade, and are very pleased.
