How would you rate Rafflesia International School?
I have been at this school for 7 years and until recently I have been able to move after moving I was diagnosed with minor depression so let me tell you this, DON'T GO HERE. The principal is bias and unprofessional, use very unprofessional language and likes to mentally manipulate the students into thinking like it was a huge grace for them to be in the school and any little behaviour mistake is like committing a sin. The facilities were very old and often there wasn’t a lot of options you could do, such as sports or just classes in general. There was no diversity, it should not even be called international school because the only thing international about it is kids from China who just wants to not do anything because China is really competitive so they come out and seek an alternative. Teachers only like good students the ones who is easy to teach and the ones who is a teachers pet all the time, and people who is less good at studying gets treated worse. AND THERE IS NO COURSE AT ALL, like even Taylor’s international is in AIMS but no, this school, there is no music, no sports, no nothing for the students to do. They try to just make up a much worse cover up for the fact that they lack so much. And don’t even get me started about the musical/perfomances, literally no one wanted to do it because they only care about the money they make through selling the tickets, and they had a musical that was really badly written and all the students that were in it absolutely hated it so much, my friend was in it because there was no other option for her and she said she didn’t want to do it they would embarrass her against her will on stage which is even worse, that they sell the tickets at a super high price because they know that the parents want to see their child perform. And there is so many else, from major communication difficulties from teacher to parent to principal which causes students to be scolded harshly for absolutely no reason, and so many more… And when you are confirmd leaving the school all the teacher’s attitude turn into pure disgust like in other schools they will wish there student best of luck for the future in this one they are like “oh you are not grateful for the school you have and you are not allowed to tell people because it gives them bad ideas” also when I left they did not uninstall the spyware that was in my laptop that I brought to school that they installed without my permission and knowledge, I only recently found out because my new school was taking a look at my laptop for me. And there were so many more incidents ( I still remember that the principal scolded me for a whole one and a half hour and I never even found out why.) THIS SCHOOL IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE, PLEASE THIS IS COMING FROM A EX STUDENT!!
I have just enrolled my 2 kids in the international school. I am glad to say from a crying baby my gal is so happy to go to school and she looks forward to be there. I wonder what magic the teachers do to the kids. On the same time I see the principal Dr Chandra never fails to receive kids everyday and the kids cling to her as soon they get out of the car. That shows the care the entire team gives to the students. I am worry free mom and I love attending the coffee mornings. Thank you
My child said the canteen food is yummy! She always asks for a 2nd plate of lunch after she finishes the first. Overall, she is happy with the school, teachers and friends here.
I had been teaching here more than 6 years. Frankly speaking, the way of managing the school is getting worst and worst in term of students quit, teacher leaving the school as compared with the previous foreigner principal. So sad that a good school and became an unhappiness school. This is my last stand and will not extend my teaching here anymore after end term. I would suggest that the management can truly hear an advise from teachers and parents not only depending the words from the principal.
All the negative reviews are true. Especially about the Principal. I don't know how they go to bed at night. Talking like they don't have a choice at the end of the day. Would have resigned if they had enough professionalism and integrity. Karma will kick them.
I am one of the happy private school parent of this school, after the current principal stepped in. Numerous changes took place in the academic matter. I do agree some facilities are not up to mark. Why blaming the principal for it? She does not own the school. Those are the responsibilities of the shareholders. Employees are bound by the rules set by the top management.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYBODY. RUN LIKE A COPORATE OFFICE AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. THE GOOD TEACHERS LEAVE ALL THE TIME. THEY ARE FAST TO DEMAND FOR FUNDS BUT WHEN YOU WITHDRAW THEY COME UP WITH A MILLION REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR YOUR REFUND. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHS ALREADY AND STILL NOTHING. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THIS SCHOOL THAT IS ABOUT THE CARE OF THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WELLBEING. IT IS ONLY ABOUT PAY, PAY, PAY, THEY ARE VERY FAST TO DEMAND UNNECESSARY PAYMENTS. THE BEST THING I EVER DID WAS TAKE MY CHILD OUT OF THAT SCHOOL.
Rafflesia International school, Puchong 1. Poorly organized learning process during the lockdown periods. 2. School charged full cost during lockdown periods, including lunches and fieldtrips. 3. When I withdrew my daughter, they issues the cheque for my deposit which wasn't accepted by the bank. The management has changed recently and everything just getting worse and worse there. Beware.

Enrolled my kids for their Teach and Care until 6pm. It's about time we had something productive like this. Kudos to the school for coming up with this.

I normally don't leave Google reviews, but I must commend RIS for offering activities and homework guidance until 6pm. So far it has been positive for my son and convenient for us since my wife and I can pick him up after work. At least we know he is safe, happy and productive.

We are so excited to see our kids showing off their art on TV! I like the extent that Rafflesia goes to expose them to a wide range of experiences aside from the usual studies.

I admit that I am a typical Asian parent and want my daughter to do well in her exams, but I also see the importance in holistic education. Of course it is not easy but the folks at Rafflesia have done a great job so far finding that balance.
