Pick Me Academy Bucharest is Kindergarten and a Primary School with a British curriculum founded in August 2014. The school began by admitting students in the Early Years Foundation Stage, in 2014. According to our admission policy we enrol students starting with the age of one year and six months’ old in the toddlers group, going up to nursery, reception stage and Key Stage 1. The school was founded by a local family and it has a board of directors led by the school proprietor and Business Manager, Ms Denis Ileana Popescu. The school is situated close to the centre of Bucharest on two small urban sites relatively close to one another. The school has grown gradually in size since it was founded. It has started with 30 children and it currently has 135 pupils on roll, 68 girls and 67 boys. Pupils enter the school from a range of educational backgrounds in Romania. Recently, the school has started to enrol international students and has 4 nationalities. We employ 25 teachers, offering a very good student/teacher ratio. All the teaching staff are Romanian qualified teachers with suitable training regarding the teaching practice in a school with a British curriculum. We strive to offer all of our children a strong foundation for their academic, social, emotional, spiritual, cultural and physical development in an English speaking environment, based on the national British curriculum. Through enriching activities and structured play, we develop early skills in inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity.
