About New Cairo British International School (NCBIS)
The New Cairo British International School (NCBIS) primary school is comprised of two streams; International and Dutch. Both streams follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), a course of study that ‘prepares students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning’. Both streams teach their respective national curriculums for English / Dutch and Mathematics but apply the PYP pedagogical approach of inquiry based learning to these areas of the curriculum where possible. In each case the school has adapted these curriculum requirements to its international setting to ensure its relevance to our student population.
Students from both streams come together regularly for learning activities, assemblies, events and trips. In our secondary school our Key Stage 3 (Year 7 – 9) students work with the British National Curriculum as its framework whilst also integrating learning ideas that promote independent learning and strong research skills. In Year 10 and 11 we offer a combination of GCSE and IGCSE programmes and examinations, while we offer the IB Diploma Programme as our pre-university qualification.
Based on the University of Durham ‘Value Added’ scores, New Cairo British International School students on average achieve in the 90th percentile (better than 90% of their peers) on their examinations.

How would you rate New Cairo British International School (NCBIS)?
Emotionally draining for both children and their parents.
The school has a new direction and focus. Some staff are reluctant to give their best and want the school to fail. However the majority are hard working and determined and the school is going from good to outstanding!
Don't really understand the bad reviews on this school. The teachers are good (and I'm one), the students work hard and are polite and kind, and the school gets good results!
I’ve worked at NCBIS for a number of years and for the first time in a long time the school is moving in the right direction. Yes the hours are long and the work is hard, but we get weekly professional development and get to travel abroad for further CPD. I’m challenged to improve and teach better. The facilities need upgrading but that’s true for most schools in Cairo.
The school is one of the very few genuine international schools in Cairo.
If I could give it minus I would, I can't even begin to explain the extent of how awful this school is. the teaching, education, safety, everything is worse than you could imagine. I came out of thus school with ptsd, depression and anxiety.
This is a truly terrible school. Lying bullying and intimidation is rife. Poor leadership. Mismanagement of school finances. Poor educational standards and ill treatment of students. Anyone considering this school for the children for their own work should subscribe to International Schools Review and educate themselves first. Avoid at all costs.
Bad discipline, teachers losing the will to live.
The worst management ever especially the executive business director. This school is a nightmare.

NCBIS is a very good school, with professional teachers, fees is on the higher side. The school is situated right behind Seoudi in Tagamoa.

If you care for your children's development and looking for a place worth every penny of your hard-earned money, look somewhere else. This is not the school for your children. Evidently, there are also misalignment between the school management and the teachers. Maybe I was not lucky, but it was a painful experience for me and my children. I do not consider NCBIS as a real institution for learning.
