About Middle East International School (MIS)
There are many reasons to join Middle East International School (MIS) (Al Sharq Alsawat) as a student.
First, you will be served by a professional, qualified staff at a school that has an established reputation for excellence. MIS has served students in Qatar for more than twenty-five years. Our current staff are hold professional certification specific to the grade level and subject they teach. More than 45% of our professional staff hold a master's degree or higher. And, the professional staff has committed to ongoing professional development in order to ensure their skills remain outstanding.
Second, you will learn in a diverse setting through the College Prep American Curriculum. Based on the Common Core Standards and California Standards, the curriculum offers a traditional American education experience following the traditional sequence for pre-college/university study. The students you will study with come from more than 50 countries representing diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences. The work is challenging, but you will be prepared for any college or university worldwide.
Third, you will improve your English! All lessons are taught in English with the exception of the foreign language classes (Arabic, Arabic for non-speakers, French) and Islamic Studies.
Fourth, our school culture and climate is extraordinary. Given less than 75 students in each grade level, students get significant 1:1 attention from their teachers as well as knowing their principal and the Head of School. Adults in the building are respected mentors, coaching students to the next level based on standards of excellence. Class sizes are kept at 25 or less. Often, in high school, the class sizes are about 22.
Fifth, MIS can open doors to the world. Through our (virtual) travel and (virtual) field trips, students experience opportunities both with Qatar and beyond. Our sister schools in the USA create these opportunities. Volunteer opportunities are also available as a way to enhance your university resume. In addition, students are able to participate in many competitions and to compete internationally with Destination Imagination, Robotics, and Model United Nations at the middle and high school level.
We believe it is the combination of these five attributes along with our mission and vision that lead to outstanding academic preparation for American and European colleges and universities or any university in the world. There's a lot more to MIS - but, we hope we helped you understand that our school is exceptional.

The worst school you can ever deal with! They decieve parents. When you try other professional schools you will clearly see the difference, totally disappointed. Teachers are not qualified and are so bad in English. None of them are native english speakers which is going to severely affect the student’s performance in a bad way. Administrators always attack the parents if they say their opinions. They always deal with parents as foolish people and that it is none of their business to know what is happening, and their only role is to pay money ONLY! Students always are suppressed. Clearly you will feel your kids are persecuted specifically for Arabian nationalities. No classroom activities for primary grades either for high school. They think smart boards are enough! What about students' skills! The biggest problem your kid will be facing is that they are not preparing the students to do the SAT exam or any other international exam in any way possible! Your kid will study by himself with everything! They will not care about anything about it and when you ask them to put it in their consideration, they have one pathetic answer which is "it is not our problem your kid must handle it by himself”, such a horrible school and management you’re going to deal with!

My daughter & son studied in this school, this school/teachers are not at all serious about studies, everything is based on phones, emails, google which spoils the children at a early age. Passing mark is 60 and my daughter scored 52 in social studies (in just 1 subject) and failing her in class whereas she can get promoted to 12th standard if she pay 422Qr for online course (waste of money, they are not serious about anything) and the yearly fee is so expensive that with the amount of fee 3 middle class family can live their life in peace. I do not recommend this school to my worst enemy.
