About King's College School

King's College School London was founded by royal charter in 1829 as the junior department of King's College London, and was originally located in Strand. During the early Victorian period, the school grew in numbers and reputation and many early pupils became eminent in public affairs. Teachers included the artist John Sell Cotman and the poet Gabriele Rossetti, who taught Italian (his son, the famous Dante Gabriel Rossetti, joined King’s in 1837).

Needing space to expand, the school moved to Wimbledon in 1897 and was separated constitutionally from the College by a 1908 Act, which created the present governing body. The junior school was established as a separate school in 1912.

King's is located in Wimbledon, facing the Common, combining convenient access with a peaceful environment and a strong sense of community.

This school is one of/ if not the best, for education. It boasts the best IB results in the world for one school, with over 95% of students getting all A* grades in GCSE. A level applicants to Oxbridge end up with a 90% acceptance rate. First class education. If you get in do not hesitate to say yes.

Staff were welcoming, Head appears sincere with a good sense of humour and boys behaved incredibly well. Grounds were smaller than expected. There has been an extensive program of construction and refurbishment. Just the odd retro physics lab and lovely wooden stairwell to remind you that the school has a bit of history. Not easy to reach by public transport on a rainy, busy night.

Probably the best school in the country, certainly the best of its type. If you can get in, go.
