About King Henry VIII College

King Henry VIII College Kuala Lumpur is a new school, but one with a history that stretches back more than 450 years. Our sister school, Christ College, Brecon in the U.K. was famously founded in 1541 by Henry VIII, whose name will grace this new school in Malaysia.

King Henry VIII College is a co-educational boarding and day school, with pupils from 3 to 18 years of age.

Visitors to Christ College in Brecon invariably comment on the special atmosphere there, and the heartfelt warmth of the welcome they receive. This is something that we are recreating in Malaysia: an ethos that is built on the long, proud history of Christ College.

Worst company I've ever worked for. The school has recently been acquired by new "investors" who have no respect for anyone working in the organisation. They are cutting staff wages amongst other things. Morale is rock bottom. Teachers can't get out quick enough. By the 2023 academic year, KH8 will be a Malaysian private school charging international school fees. Cross it off your list.

As a teacher, I see the reality of what the current situation (October 2022), is. The school is under new "management". Their focus is to cut costs by not hiring to fill vacancies, not maintaining any of the school facilities, not paying staff on time, not paying taxes, EPF, responsibility allowances etc., reducing salaries overall and transitioning to a majority of Malay teachers. The current international staff, which make up the vast majority of teachers, will all have left by July 2023 and many may leave beforehand. The school was great, great teachers, great students and great facilities, however that has now all gone.

My child was supposed to study in Kh8, but we had to cancel the enrollment because we could not enter the country due to Covid. The reason was that we could not enter the country, but the amount of the refund was not refunded, and when we asked why, we were always kept ignored. Please be careful with this school.
