Jill’s Place Lisbon welcomes children from age 18 months to 7 years, in a charming villa in Carcavelos, in a cosy, familiar setting, to learn through inquiry, exploration and play every child has a chance to shine every day.
We are a community of caring people who build healthy relationships in a “home away from home” where the children feel welcomed, valued, supported and loved. We do not compare children to an unrealistic norm but instead, we measure their progress and celebrate their efforts, kindness, friendship and joy of being lifelong learners.
Our goal has always been and will always be to provide an innovative and balanced learning environment where developing character is our highest priority.
Jill’s Place provides a remarkable child-centered learning environment that fosters a strong sense of belonging and acceptance, empowering the students to unlock their full potential. With an emphasis on individual needs, this school offers small class sizes, high teacher-to-student ratios, in-house access to therapists and personalized instruction that cultivates both academic skills such as reading, writing, and math, as well as essential human values like curiosity, self-motivation, resilience, and grit. Engaging activities such as story writing and scientific inquiry are thoughtfully designed to nurture creativity while inspiring the children to exceed their perceived limitations. Overall, Jill’s Place creates an optimal learning experience that inspires and challenges students to become the best versions of themselves.

My daughter and son joined Jill's Place when they were 18 months and 3 years old. I had the privilege of dropping them off together every day in a place where I felt that they were safe, stimulated and cared for by true educators. At 4 and 7 they both enjoy school and learning. They've developed a love of books, a curiosity for their surroundings and great friendships with their classmates. I am constantly impressed by the staff's commitment to my children and my family.
