How to describe in few words my agony and struggle with ISD? First let me say that I am happy finally to have escaped ISD!!! In general we were faced with Incompetent , insensitive (let’s say lending a deaf ear ) to our fears and requests - A school who : 1)does not believe in books ok! But there aren’t even e-books, so the student has no reference to go back to - 2)Not believing in homework -one can swallow this as well ( even though ,in my opinion ,how can a teacher understand if the student has grasped the teaching if not Thru homework) 3) not accepting to challenge a pupil who is more than ready for more !! And when you ask about the why ???? they , some teachers and admin ‘s excuse is simply THIS IS NOT OUR WAY. 4) not believing in tests ( please someone explain to me how can or will the teacher evaluate the child ??? kids are bored in class , spending their time with useless issues! And at the end of the PYP 7 which supposed to be the year that they prepare you to secondary with stress on tests and maths , science , all what they do is explaining to the parents and kids that most of the children will not be admitted to secondary and that Nederland needs more technicians than university graduate !!! Please for God’s sake someone explain to me how can such school exist , and when you try to take at least one of the 4 points listed before you are faced with not cooperative , evading admin! Last but not least a pyp7 teacher that spends his time talking about the birth of his child to our children than teaching , takes months on end to be with his wife when she was delivering and when his wife needs to be out of the Netherland he just takes off to be with his child !!,( our kids are then left with an incompetent substitute )- I, like many others, who did and more will still do , escaped in the real meaning of the term this school and I beg you whoever is responsible to re evaluate this school.
Good school, still small but they're expanding quick
