About Fairview International School (FIS)

Fairview International School is a global network of 6 schools, serving the community since 1978 and currently located across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Subang, Johor and Ipoh) and Scotland, UK. All Malaysian campuses are authorised IB World Schools for children aged 3 – 19, with our UK campus in its candidacy stage.

Fairview has grown from 300 IB students in one campus to over 1500 students from 55 countries and a teaching faculty of over 300 teachers spanning across the 6 campuses. Our network of schools are authorised for 11 IB Programmes, making us the champion of IB Education in Malaysia.

The time tested UK National Curriculum forms the backbone of our educational programme within the IB Curriculum Framework. Fairview is dedicated to providing a holistic learning experience. Our commitment to our students’ academic, physical, social and emotional success is evident in these 4 areas.

We are committed to using only the best methods in teaching and learning and our results show!
The International School Awards awarded us a Teaching and Learning Award for our ToolBox@FIS, created to ensure our students are equipped with skills for life.
Our FutureProof@FIS programme explicitly builds good character and develops skills for life. It includes our unique Falcons programme, EYAS coaching programme, a whole school customised career development programme centered around the Ikigai model and our annual excursions, camps and international expeditions.

The ‘Everyone’s a Musician programme’ inspires our students' creativity and love for music as they learn an orchestral musical instrument and have the opportunity to perform in Dominus, a world-class Art’s Venue.

The belief that ‘good teachers make for good learning’ is deeply ingrained into the Fairview ethos. Teachers are nurtured through an advanced systematic professional development programme. We have taken it to the next level by partnering with the University College Fairview to offer our teachers scholarships to obtain their Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, Masters of Education and even Doctorate of Education.

At Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur, we believe it is only when our educators approach education with humility, an open mind and excitement at the possibilities within that we may be able to unlock the potential in the students placed in our charge.

I have been studying in fairview for more than 5 years now, and I need to say I've learned and mastered a lot of skills and the teachers are really good there. The classrooms are not that maintained but the other facilities are fabulous. Such as the dominus art value. Highly recommended!

My daughter joined Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur since 2017. She really enjoys her learning journey in Fairview. I am happy to see my child's progress...really impressed. She has become an independent child, she learns different languages like mandarin as second language. Another amazing skill is music, she play violin.

Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur (Wangsa Maju) is an IB school. IB students develop strong academic, social and emotional characteristics. They are also likely to perform well academically – often better than students on other curricula. Unlike most other boards where teacher evaluation remains an issue, Fairview trains its teacher to meet the demands of the students using various IB strategies. Students passing out of IB accredited schools develop a habit of lifelong learning. The students are trained not to be afraid of approaching uncertainties. They are taught to be independent, explore new strategies, ideas and be expressive enough to be able to defend their beliefs. They tend to grow up to be principled individuals, acting with integrity and honesty, further augmented by sense of fairness and respect for individuals. I have seen my kids evolve to become more principled and open minded. They are so independent and can do their tasks well. The teachers are very caring towards the kids and the leadership team immediately works on any issues that may arise. The students are not only strong in their content knowledge but develop mastery in skills such as thinking, research, communication, social and self-management too. They are ready to face the challenges of the world. I have happy to have chosen this school for my children.

Our 7th year with Fairview; why? 1. Over the years, our children are taught in a structured and consistent IB approach.  The IB approach is instilled in them, turning into good habits. We like the way our children conduct research, overcome challenges and accomplish tasks.  Now that our children are in Middle Year, they are trained not just to understand how a certain topic has an impact to society, but more importantly to share their point of view on the topic. 2.  Music for their right brain. Besides education, one of the best gift Fairview gave our children is the appreciation of music.  Our children were trained on their choice of instrument and were given opportunities to learn and perform alongside musicians. 3. The yearly 4-day camp in Port Dickson, and the twice a year excursions were interrupted due to the pandemic.  We hope situation will improve and those sessions can resume. Undoubtedly, our children mature most during those events when they are away from their comfort zone. As a next project, we hope to be able to leverage on Fairview IB school in Scotland.  This would provide an enriching exposure for our children.

Both my kids study in FAIRVIEW KL campus. My kids have grown to become lifelong learners and I am proud to say that they are really independent. They truly reflect the IB learner profile attributes as they are inquirers, risk takers, communicators and definitely principled. They have developed the skills to help them cope with future challenges. Unlike other schools, they also learn Mandarin and they play string instruments like the violin which is one of the school’s unique features. The teachers and leaders are so supportive too. Fairview Kuala Lumpur is definitely a school to consider as it offers a great IB education for all.

FISKL is one of the best IB schools in KL with affordable cost and great service. During MCO when we the parents were worried about with this new normal syllabus, this very school gave us the full confidence and comfort to adjust.

I've wanting to write a review since I entered my children to this school. I honestly feel that both of son's self confidence increased significantly. They're able to speaks English, play and mingle with other kids without any hesitation. Plus, getting better in Match and Science too.

This will be the first time I'm writing a review. I'm a student here since year 2018. Fairview International School has good amenities. The students are cool as always. But I really love and adore the teachers. There's one day, I forgot to bring my purse and I was feeling super hungry. I didn't tell anyone but my teacher seems like able to 'feel' something. She ask me if I am okay or not. Told her that I did not bring my purse. She gave me RM10 to buy food and didn't even ask me to pay her back. I love you Ms. Y. Thank you.

My Family and I just moved to Malaysia on March 2019. At first i thought that it would be hard for me adapt with new culture and all. But then, the teachers here are very friendly and willing to teach and guide me. A good experience and an amazing school.
