About Fairview International School (FIS)

Fairview International School is a global network of 6 schools, serving the community since 1978 and currently located across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Subang, Johor and Ipoh) and Scotland, UK. All Malaysian campuses are authorised IB World Schools for children aged 3 – 19, with our UK campus in its candidacy stage.

Fairview has grown from 300 IB students in one campus to over 1500 students from 55 countries and a teaching faculty of over 300 teachers spanning across the 6 campuses. Our network of schools are authorised for 11 IB Programmes, making us the champion of IB Education in Malaysia.

The time tested UK National Curriculum forms the backbone of our educational programme within the IB Curriculum Framework. Fairview is dedicated to providing a holistic learning experience. Our commitment to our students’ academic, physical, social and emotional success is evident in these 4 areas.

We are committed to using only the best methods in teaching and learning and our results show!
The International School Awards awarded us a Teaching and Learning Award for our ToolBox@FIS, created to ensure our students are equipped with skills for life.
Our FutureProof@FIS programme explicitly builds good character and develops skills for life. It includes our unique Falcons programme, EYAS coaching programme, a whole school customised career development programme centered around the Ikigai model and our annual excursions, camps and international expeditions.

The ‘Everyone’s a Musician programme’ inspires our students' creativity and love for music as they learn an orchestral musical instrument and have the opportunity to perform in Dominus, a world-class Art’s Venue.

The belief that ‘good teachers make for good learning’ is deeply ingrained into the Fairview ethos. Teachers are nurtured through an advanced systematic professional development programme. We have taken it to the next level by partnering with the University College Fairview to offer our teachers scholarships to obtain their Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, Masters of Education and even Doctorate of Education.

At Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur, we believe it is only when our educators approach education with humility, an open mind and excitement at the possibilities within that we may be able to unlock the potential in the students placed in our charge.

Overall

When I first came to this school, the teachers and security gruards were kind. I was exited on this new school. While waiting for the class to start, I saw that everyone was on their laptop, since I was at the back, I can see what they were watching, I ask the teacher are they alowed. The teacher say that they tried many times to tell them to stop but they didn't. The following days, I just keep seeing more and more students watching, even the front rows. One time, I decided to play the drum doing music class while everyone was playing their ipads and stuff while the teacher was busy. The students yell at me saying "Do you think this is your house?!!" Not able to hold it anymore and I yell back saying " IF THIS ISNT A HOUSE THEN WHY YOU ALL USE YOUR LAPTOP WHEN U SHOULDN'T?!! IM DOING SOMETHING THAT IS ALLOWRD AND YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT ISNT, AND YOU DARE TALK BACK?!!" By this point I know that the students don't even know what's right what's wrong, I talk to the counciling teacher about how I feel bad for the teacher on how they have to deal with all of the students(I only been in this school for a few weeks) So really, everything about this school is good, the only bad thing is the students, I asked had they think of any ideas of stopping the students, and the teacher say they're still thinking. I hope they will actually stop them from keep watching their laptop (Side note) One them the school doesn't have WiFi and the students are so desperate of playing their laptops that they are willing to play the offline dinosaur game.

I've wanting to write a review since I entered my children to this school. I honestly feel that both of son's self confidence increased significantly. They're able to speaks English, play and mingle with other kids without any hesitation. Plus, getting better in Match and Science too.

This will be the first time I'm writing a review. I'm a student here since year 2018. Fairview International School has good amenities. The students are cool as always. But I really love and adore the teachers. There's one day, I forgot to bring my purse and I was feeling super hungry. I didn't tell anyone but my teacher seems like able to 'feel' something. She ask me if I am okay or not. Told her that I did not bring my purse. She gave me RM10 to buy food and didn't even ask me to pay her back. I love you Ms. Y. Thank you.

My Family and I just moved to Malaysia on March 2019. At first i thought that it would be hard for me adapt with new culture and all. But then, the teachers here are very friendly and willing to teach and guide me. A good experience and an amazing school.
