About Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ)
Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ) is a K-12 school established in 1950 to provide Christ-centered education to the children of evangelical missionaries. While continuing in this purpose, CAJ also serves other families who desire this type of education for their children. We serve approximately 450 students in our day school program and more than 300 students in our School Support Services program.
Our program uses English as the language of instruction and a North American curriculum. The school serves a student body that is composed of the dependents of missionaries (40%) and dependents of business and professional people (60%). Our students come from over 25 countries with many holding dual citizenship.

10/10 Would recommend. Great place for all, especially if you are looking for a Christian education. Good academics, diverse set of student clubs, strong sports teams, and friendly environment.

Very high quality education, but lacking in practical training for developing ones career goals and aspirations. Facilities are very nice and are much better in comparison to local public high schools in Japan. Would overall recommend.

I never felt like I belonged in Japan when I moved from Hawaii until I attended CAJ. Teachers always helped me understand the material and not just complete it. The academic level is high and prepares you for college. Many students in America did not even know the proper way of writing essays, making power points or even know how to present. CAJ was really strict, but college was smooth because CAJ prepared me! I see comments that are saying that CAJ is religiously biased, well it is, if you look at the name of the school, it is a Christian school. So if you do not want that then I suggest you go to another school. And CAJ does not force students to convert to Christianity, that is really up to the student, but if they feel that way, thats on them. Overall, CAJ is a great place to learn, grow, and build relationships with other students who are just like you, coming from different cultures and living in Japan. Teachers make mistakes, the school is not perfect, but I believe that all teachers strive to do their best to help students to the best of their abilities. I would recommend this school!
