About Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS)

Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) is an independent international school with currently more than 1,800 students and 300 staff, all united by the joy of learning, excellence in achievement, and shared values. Our student body represents more than 40 nationalities from Pre Reception (3-years old) through to Grade 12. With all 15 grade levels coexisting on one campus, members of our community are able to form strong bonds and long-lasting relationships. In fact, 50% of the graduates of the Class of 2019 had been with the school for 12 years or more, a remarkable percentage compared with other international schools.

CDNIS has been a leader in international education since its inception 29 years ago and is now widely recognized as one of the world’s most innovative and cutting-edge institutions. Our future-ready programmes promote academic excellence, the development of character, and strong engagement  both locally and globally.

We are fully committed to the integration of Chinese language and culture with the Ontario curriculum and International Baccalaureate programmes, and are the only school outside of Canada where students graduate with both the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and the IB Diploma.

CDNIS creates a great energy and atmosphere for children to learn, play and grow here! I have three kids who study here and we are happy to see the little progress they make every day. Meanwhile, I noticed that CDNIS has also established an effective communication system/platform with parents and for parents, which is very important for us to understand the children's learning journey and build friendships with other children and families.

I think that the staff are very kind and the facilities and sports are brilliant as well. There are always fun field trips and fun activities to do at this school. Highly recommended!!!

The school has a very biassed leadership, the leadership members love to abuse their position. I'm glad I transferred schools. The only thing good about the school is its facilities. Pretty much it. Teaching is very poor and I learn more from my tutor classes than school.

Great school, good education, friendly students. I hate the uneducated and biased teachers in upper school though.

School has really lost its appeal in recent years, it is suffering from a lack of identity and the wrong focus of always trying to be too positive about everything. Soft leadership has resulted in the current students being the least resilient of any that I have experienced; the school is failing in their intended job of helping them grow and preparing them for the real world.

Our experience with Admissions has been poor. We feel that the school would like to earn easy money in this process. In our case the school would only answer our question (can you give us an idea of the chance that all 3 kids will be accepted because we would not want kids in different schools) when a high non refundable registration fee is paid- 3 times (3 kids)! This attitude is not common for HK international schools.

Been here 6 years. Overall a nice experience. The teachers and staff are incredibly professional and nice. Has excellent air-conditioning and a great view of the ocean. However the food quality may sometimes vary (Especially on Mondays). All future students please do say hi to Mick the 6th floor vending machine, greatly appreciated.

Both my kids have attended since pre reception and it has been an outstanding experience for them. They are really learning how to think for themselves and, as per the mission statement, preparing themselves to be productive and valuable global citizens.
