How would you rate Campion School?
Campion essentially lives in its own ‘bubble’ and does not easily welcome other students. It is heavily based on favoritism, inequality between students and how grades are given out. A lot of bullying and harassment between staff and teachers and students.
Campion is a school that is a big problem with communication between parents and teachers. Secondly, inclusivity seems a non-existing word in their vocabulary. I mean that there are a few favourite kids and parents and somehow there are the 'stars' of almost every event that takes place within the school. The headmaster even though British, appears uninteresting to listen to this. Academically you would need to pay for private tutors outside the school for kids to have good grades, this is a common secret you only learn it when in there! This makes it even worse as it doesn't apply to what has been promised before. I would say that the facilities are on the decent side, but there is no swimming pool inside the school. Also, IT is not acceptable even for the Ofsted, read the report of 2023!
- Academically it is a very poor school doing things over and over again. - Behaviours between pupils are rough. Very abusive and physical. - School administration very bad and don't care to communicate when problems arise.
Primary school is very poor academically. All subjects supposed to be incorporated into IPC but in the end they simply don't teach any STEM, history or geography. Headteacher very unresponsive to serious behaviour issues. We have been very dissatisfied and will be moving our children out.
As for academic classes, some teachers are good. Some are mediocre and others suffers from too many personal problems that get in the way of teaching at a level that is acceptable. Unfortunately school does not foster great sportsmanship. One teacher in particular plays favoritism to his own daughter in PE and rewards her with end of year awards when other kids are as accomplished. Biased and unfair. The headmaster is unresponsive and avoids communicating with parents. Not sure how school is run. Not an inclusive and welcoming school for non Greek nationalities especially in secondary school. If you are looking for an international school, Campion is not it. Send your child elsewhere.
Campion school behaviour was completely unacceptable. They were so indifferent regarding accepting new pupils and families that they could not be more obvious. They were using wrong child's name , the selection process could not be worse as it took 6 weeks at least and they are not offering any details. Its just completely random!! Pastoral could not offer half an hour interview for at least 2 weeks. No proper meeting with secondary school could be made for at least 2 months. I am not sure how this school is working. But I know if we had the option of attending ours kids would not be looked after properly. Avoid this school at all cost! And they are pricey for the attention they offer, which is practically none.
Campion is simply the best international (British) school in Athens, with excellent pupil results and a great atmosphere.
Friendly school, great pastoral care. One of few private schools in Greece that retain small class sizes and a focus on each individual child. A happy and flexible/responsive school. Academics could be improved in the senior school. Sports and science could be improved throughout.
Bullying of staff by other staff and of pupils by staff goes unchecked. Head takes no responsibility. Board ignores there are some serious problems.
Great facilities, friendly and supportive staff, happy pupils.
