First, let me start by saying that I think most of the teachers are doing the best they can considering the situation. The students have potential but aren't placed in an environment conducive to learning. This is because this is a very disorganized school and this is coming mostly from the top. There is no routine, for example, there are constant schedule and classroom changes for teachers and students. The rooms are too small compared to the number of students in them and teachers have very little time to spend with each student individually. Management is under-qualified and ineffective in creating an atmosphere where students feel encouraged to follow typical codes of decorum. For example, there was a huge issue with students yelling racial swears and drawing awful symbols and punching/damaging the walls and this was an ongoing issue all year. Teachers did the best within the confines of their authority regarding this issue but no serious consequences were ever given for even the most egregious violations. Upper management is uncaring to the needs of most teachers and staff members. For example, playing favorites, and ignoring the needs and rights of some staff while giving out their personal numbers to other staff members. There is no equitable treatment of staff. Pay/benefits are not competitive compared to other schools in the country and region and other promised benefits might be withheld for a period of time or even later revoked or denied. If this school is ever serious about improving, they need to hire more experienced people for (upper) management positions, hire a liaison who can bridge the huge gap between upper management and everyone else, start caring about all teachers, and respect all employees and value their input.

We moved to Serbia few years ago not sure what to expect. We started our kids at the different school, that looked better, is bigger, more advertised...we met few parents whos kids did school hopping, but sattled at Brook Hill where we finaly moved our kids year ago... We can say, after a full year, and beginning a second one, that Brook Hill has greatly exceeded our expectations in every way. The teachers and administrators are all great at what they do, always willing to talk to a parent about anything our kids might need, and constantly making an effort to do even better for the kids. The teachers put in so much effort for that, and I think all the kids learned a lot. All the teachers we've worked with there have been really good at bringing out my kids' strengths and addressing their weaknesses, and our kids like them all. That matters, too. The kids at this school are really nice, too, local and international. Our kids made friends very easily here. . They really bring out the community. I can't recommend this school highly enough. It's been nothing but good for us. We can really appreciate the small welcoming experience that Brook Hill provides. For sure not the largest international school in Belgrade but you get the best for the just right price.
