British College La Cañada is a business with the sole aim of maximizing profit —and does not care much about offering good education for kids. Our child went to BCLC for several years, and we have friends who used to be staff members, so we know the school very well. The staff turnover is extremely high due to poor working conditions and low pay. This negatively affects the academics to a very high degree. It's not unusual for a class to change teachers twice in a given subject in a single academic year, and the low pay often attracts teachers that aren't very good. Facilities are sub standard. Our child switched to a public school and could not believe the standard of, say, the physics lab compared to BCLC. Again, BCLC cuts many corners to maximize profit, and it really shows once you start scratching the surface. The food on offer is extremely low quality, despite being overpriced, and you cannot opt-out and let you child bring his or her own food. This means most kids just pick at their lunches and are too tired to learn anything come afternoon. I could go on. This is a very poor school indeed, and our child is delighted to now be out of there, despite missing some old friends.
Bad school. That parents hire external teachers to pass the GCSEs because they don't teach the contents at school sums up the poor functioning of the center. Low level of English . Many periods without teachers in subjects such as mathematics, business, science... There is no educational project because 60/70% of all courses change teachers. Happy children but very poorly prepared.
An excellent school, staff work extremely hard to fulfill a stimulating, safe, secure environment, each step is a measured response to each individual child.
Really good school, it has a big patio with fake grass and everything it also has a basketball court to match . The teachers are absolutely great .
Strong levels of learning. Resources to be desired, from the outside it all looks very glamorous but its not very well equipped. Not built as a school. Profits are often prioritised over investment and education in the school.
