How would you rate Anglo-American School of Sofia (AAS)?
The school is run by the doorman and his wife. The teachers are fired when their daughter is not happy with her grades.
This is a terrible "school"! First, it is not accredited by the ministry of education and seems more of an entertainment center for children of ex-pats and diplomats. Its admission is not based on academic performance and the class constituencies reflect that. The average is embraced, but excellence is frowned upon. It may be the only option for temp foreign residents, but is nothing but social isolation and academic complacency to kids. The name is also misleading as the majority of children are non-American or English. The principals' role is to cover any internal problems, which there are plenty of, and create an illusion of " all is well and all are happy" following a political and diplomatic agenda. Do not get caught on by the pretty campus! There is no AC on campus and the school is overheated until late September. They call this ecological! Ask for a list of colleges this school's graduates go to to get the full picture.
