The American School of Milan (ASM) is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school with a state-of-the-art campus located south of Milan. Founded in 1962, ASM has been educating international students from more than 50 countries for more than 55 years. The school’s mission is to provide a modern and rigorous education for international students to excel in the changing world of tomorrow. ASM is accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is an IB World School offering the Diploma Program since 1983.
ASM offers a student-centered, American-style education that encourages children to develop their full potential, achieve personal excellence and become global citizens committed to lifelong learning. We embrace the IB learner profile along with our school values of accountability, respect and empowerment. Technology is a key focus at ASM and an integral part of student learning. Our elementary school integrates iPads to prepare students for the 1:1 laptop program that begins in Grade 6. The school also offers 3D design, robotics, digital art and photography and film courses in our ultramodern film studio.
They do not meet the need of children with any learning disability. IEPs are not taken seriously. It is also frustrating that they put students that clearly should not be in IB classes in them. I feel there needs to be more flexibility in their teaching style to be able to reach their American students.
