About American International School of Vietnam (AISVN)

At American International School of Vietnam (AISVN), each student is prepared for leadership in our global community while maintaining a strong set of values based on their cultural heritage. The AISVN student body is 90% Vietnamese and we are very proud to provide a rigorous international IB education sustained by Vietnamese family values. We support our high standards with a variety of programs -- preeminently our English As An Additional Language Program -- and teaching strategies that ensure we identify and address the learning needs of each and every child because we know that every child can learn.

Established in 2006, AISVN has grown from serving children on four campuses in our first years to serving more than 1,200 students today, ranging from Early Years (3 year olds) to Grade 12. Our expansive campus provides the facilities and space to enable our continued growth and a beautiful learning environment.

Our commitment and experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is evident from the success of our students and graduates. AISVN graduates go on to study at top universities around the world, and our alumni gather regularly to network and exchange ideas.

The good things about this school is that it had has classrooms on many floors. The classroom is large, has air conditioning, a projector, speakers, whiteboards and other equipment needed for teaching. 80% of the teachers here are experienced with creative and easy-to-learn teaching methods. The curriculum is quite good and reasonable. The negative things about this school is that 20% of teachers here are extremely time-consuming, coming in 15 minutes late, playing 20 minutes late and leaving 30 minutes early. However, these teachers whose come late for class are willing to accept to complains and improve

Positive aspects: At AISVN, the student and parent community is highly commendable. The students consistently display politeness, enthusiasm for learning, and a delightful sense of humor. The school maintains a favorable work-life balance, and its teaching spaces are spacious and accommodating. Furthermore, the provision of bussing services for students and staff contributes to convenience and accessibility. Notably, Ho Chi Minh City serves as an appealing and enjoyable place to reside. Areas of concern: In the upcoming academic year, AISVN will undergo significant changes in its leadership team, generating uncertainties regarding the implications of this transition. The roles affected include the Head of School, who will be promoted from the Secondary Principal position, the Secondary Principal, the DP Coordinator (due to maternity leave), the MYP Coordinator, the PYP Coordinator, and the introduction of two new Secondary Vice Principals. Parents accused school of dodging debts. As stated in the contract, the loan is interest-free, and the school will pay it within 90 days after the students move to another school or finish their 12th grade. However, multiple parents have claimed that the American International School Vietnam (AISVN) in HCMC took out zero-interest loans from them to let their children study for free but had failed to deliver as promised.

I'am a graduate in dual major Master of Science in HR Management in 05 and another MS in Forensic Science in 2010, and my dual degree leads me here currently got successfully enrolled/offered, and worked and retained his position here as Recruitment Specialist from early August 23. My labor contract with this school ends in late October 2025. So I got five more years working here and experience all the good stuff here PROS I feel a sense of belonging in my company. The staff from different department and the school treat their fellow staff/employees and their family with great respect. For example, my husband loves this school and happily interacts with the school and its staff and provides the school with unlimited assistance, because the school was friendly and support of outsiders like him. Able to accesses healthcare and the school is always ready to assist and support of staffs with health issues. The work environment feels inclusive and respectful of all people. Very friendly environment. A lot of employment and employee benefits. Labor contact can be extend, with employment and employee benefits. Receive good pay and high payment gatherings. Attractive welfare regime helps the company "retain" talents. High rewarded and many competitive allowance. Earn bonuses and commissions. Access to different kinds of books: novel, non-fiction, etc for employees/staff and students alike in both free time and work period. A lot of flexibility in food chooses in canteen. Diversity in workforces; lots of opportunities to interact with different departments. Productive and friendly workplaces, where employees/staffs are always ready to support each other, even when you are from different departments. The staffs environments are inclusive and welcoming, with staffs come from all kinds of countries: United States, British, European, etc, and all of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The Recruitment Office where I work were friendly; the chief human officer, who is our boss, was really nice and supportive of the other members low-ranked than him. I and the Recruitment Office have seen in several different KPIs his school had establishes 80% recruited candidates qualified candidates for both non-office and office positions. 70% recruit staff meets expected policies. My fellow Recruitment office staffs were ready to assist me, their fellow office member, in other HR functional administrative tasks CONS Workplace anxiety when dealing with different recruitment candidates. It can be challenging for me to maintain a work-life balance. There're lots of deadlines, and many international staffs from all kind of different countries means you have to be good at many different languages. Experience burnout and stress; us the staff are requires to a friendly demeanour at all times, regardless of how people, except for us recruitment candidates act or how you personally feel

I worked there previously in this school - in Counselling Department before moving to Edu4life Educational Company in Ho Chi Minh City PROS Talented faculty, lovely students, wonderful city, generally a good international school experience. Very easy and efficient. They called me after I applied by sending my CV to their email. Then we had an in person interview. Finally they sent me an email with their offer. CONS School did have financial issues the last 2 years, unable to pay local staff on time at first and then expat staff’s salary became 60% at the end of the month, 40% at the middle of the month (so 2 payments per month rather than 1) ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT School counsellors are developing curriculum much of the time which does not allow them to meet the needs of students daily. A Wellbeing/SEL Coordinator is needed to help school fully develop the Depends which division your friend is applying to but lots of leadership changes in the last few years.

I had a great time here overall, the school is always supportive and the teachers are always nice and friendly for you to be the best you can be. The staffs are friendly, though kinda overpriced with everything, it is a great school.
