About Al Faris International School

Al Faris International School is a fully certified IB World School and follows the philosophy and teaching methodology of the IB Programme, which centers on inquiry-based learning whereby students actively guide the learning process through inquiry and discovery, reflect on their learning and translate knowledge into action.

FIS has adopted the American Common Core State Standards CCSS in Math, English and Social Studies, and NGSS for Sciences. We currently provide McGraw Hill, Pearson and other textbooks and learning resources to meet these standards. Digital publisher Kognity is used by our IB DP program. By merging all of these resources together, FIS ensures that students reach their full learning potential through different learning approaches that build social and emotional learning skills, college and career-ready skills, and enhance problem-solving. This emphasizes the students’ role in the learning process, giving them the autonomy to explore, ask questions and share ideas.

Our curriculum includes the core subjects of English, math, sciences, social studies/history as well as Arabic, French, computer studies, robotics, art, and physical education

The school is fully accredited in all three programs of the International Baccalaureate: the Primary Years Program (PYP) corresponding to years PreK-Grade 5, the Middle Years Program (MYP) corresponding to Grades 6-10 (MYP Years 1-5) and the Diploma Program (DP), corresponding to Grades 11-12 (DP Years 1 and 2). Our optional American Diploma Program (SAT) is accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancEd).

Al Faris is not exactly a school. Definitely not by realistic Western standards. We had the misfortune of needing to push our kids through the "IB diploma programme" here - something which is distorted to such extremes that it loses any resemblance to what IB genuinely stands for. Inquisitive learning becomes more like Spanish Inquisition. Gender segregation, extreme and irrational grade boundaries, super weird approach to sciences and illogically harsh "rules and discipline" would make any sane Western minded parent flee from this institute. Unfriendly and downright rude administration, staff calling on the phone whom are seemingly unable to even introduce themselves, and an insane nightmare of a registration process (aka "equivalency") - all completes to a really appalling state of affairs. As a parent I am ashamed I pushed my kids through this. We got out, alive - and on the positive side - learned a major lesson in life, especially about what NEVER to do in an institute that aspires to be called a "school"...

I've been in this school for about 6 to 7 years, and it's not good up until grade 6 when everything starts to go wrong. Teachers make fun of students some times when i privately text a teacher they tell the class that message. I have several friends who are having depressing thoughts because of the amount of work and bullying . Many teachers start talking about diets and cars. The most recent innovation has teachers changing the subject of the lesson which doesn't help my adhd any better o yeah the school really doesn't care about your health at all once i fell cut my leg on this sand paper type floor and had to wait 3h for the nurse to arrive she was to busy being paid to sleep. There is too much homework, and The app doesn't improve the situation because it's clunky and annoying, and the bullying is horrifying Teachers, students, and even the stupid guard outside enjoy making fun of my height because I'm short and you can't do anything, trust me, I've tried, kids will gang up on you to tell you how ugly you look ,people can and will come out of nowhere and tackle you . The building feels like it's going to collapse at any moment because everything in the boy section is broken, including the stairs, sinks, floor projectors, signs, boards, tables, chairs, ceiling, lights, etc there are at least five fights in my class every day, and there are so many terrible students at this school that I've been getting in trouble because of them, teachers where do i start oh yes teachers are loud annoying and spend most of the time screaming and banging anything loud enough to shut the class up its gotten so bad a teacher told a kid to go kill himself and heres the thing those who hit people in class get "verbal warning" as me here step on my teachers shoe gets detention I'm sorry mr how was i supposed to know your precious's white shoes where under my table. Overall don't send you kid here or else he will become rude or depressed or save your children by not taking them to this school pls

All staff is kind and very friendly. You will never feel uncomfortable to be with them even you have simple person. Highly educated and professional.

They have a very strong academic program. They follow IB system, but administration is really bad, specially at the girls section. Safety at school is questionable!? Way to swimming pool after school includes not very safe stair and lights are not turned on at night in the school yard for students coming for after school activities!!

The school is very nice and it's great, but the staff are certainly not the best. I went to take my first SAT trial there, but the supervisor was moody and rude to me for no reason. I had an awful time there, which is a shame considering how nice the school looks.

Poor school , looking for 300 SAR for student interview , they are running after money. Education and skills are the last , it is very expensive school with no value back.
