UWCSEA Dover is an incredibly special place. It is special because it manages to combine high levels of academic achievement with an all-pervading emphasis on service to others, environmental stewardship, teamwork and leadership. It is also special because there never seems to be a moment when something isn’t happening. Opened in 1971 as Singapore International School by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, UWC South East Asia became a full member of the UWC movement in 1975.

3 years in the Seventies. It was a quite unique experience as a Forces kid who had never been out of the UK. Was called Singapore International School initially and was fabulously international. Loved it.

This school has shaped the person I have become today: having a heart for those in need and seeing the urgency in saving the planet. There really is no other holistic education like UWC.
