We had 3 children (grades 1, 4 and 6) at Acton Taipei during our time in Taiwan. It was a wonderful experience. We saw the teaching method have quite an impact on the development of our children, in particular their level of independence. The teachers ("guides") are fantastic, very nurturing at the lower level and very challenging at the upper level. We really loved how they manage the older kids, treating them almost like adults instead of teaching down to them. The children really responded to this and took more responsibility for themselves as a result. The community of like-minded parents was also a huge plus. It may not be a fit for everyone as the philosophy behind their style of pedagogy veers pretty far from other schools, but if you are attracted to their philosophy we highly recommend it.

Our family was looking for an English-language school in Taipei and we're very happy to have found Acton Academy Taipei. Our children enjoyed a very memorable school year, and overall it was a great experience. Independent learning is heavily stressed -- I believe most students can eventually adapt, but it may take some longer than others. Project-based learning (quests) are a major part of the curriculum -- they all had interesting themes and our kids had a lot of fun working on them. The guides were supportive and caring, studio space was clean, bright and comfortable, and the other families at the school were great -- we would recommend Acton Academy Taipei to anyone seeking a non-traditional education.

We moved here from Japan because of covid. We were lucky to have found Acton for my daughter. My daughter is bilingual in Japanese and English. At the beginning of joining Acton, her Japanese was a lot better than her English. Acton made her comfortable enough to truly be herself and because of it her English has advanced more than I needed her to. The best is that she loves going to school everyday since joining Acton. She has become independent in learning and truly enjoys education because of Acton. We are glad we found the perfect school for us in Taiwan!

Our family had a great experience at Acton Academy Taipei. We loved the overall program, particularly the teachers, Acton families/community, and enthusiasm for independent learning. It was amazing to watch our first grader navigate the different programs and his assignments independently, and then continue to do so more confidently through the semester. We highly recommend Acton Academy Taipei.

My son went to Acton Taipei for the 2020-2021 school year as a 5th grader and had an incredible experience. Acton's student-directed learning approach combined with plenty of time to eat, play, and create, was so excellent. My husband and I saw our son thrive in ways we'd never seen. Instead of being tired and grumpy after school (like he always was after K-3 in the U.S.), he was energized, enthused, and talkative. He was consistently excited about different projects he was working on. We also saw him benefit tremendously from the multi-age classroom setup. He developed very close friendships with other kids his age. At the same time, he learned to be a kind, patient mentor to younger students. It was a special school year for our family that I know we'll never forget. I highly recommend Acton Academy Taipei!
