About Washington School

Washington School was founded in 1950 by Mrs Mercedes Mallo. Its doors opened with 19 kindergarteners and the following year the first grade of Primary School, increased in triplicate the number of children enrolled.

Year after year, a new grade was incorporated until 1962 when our Secondary School was opened. In 1968 passion for education allowed the
inauguration of the new building, specially designed as a school and considered a model due to is architectonic design. Together with the growth of its venues, the affective bond with students, teachers and families grew alike.

By that time the EOP (Equipo de Orientación Psicopedagógica; School Counselors’ Team) had already been constituted and students started sitting for Cambridge International exams.

The school that received me and trained me throughout primary and secondary school. Always emphasizing a comprehensive education. Excellent teachers in all their areas, and that adds a great appreciation to sport as an important part of the growth of the boys (mens sana in corpore sana). I would not hesitate to send my children to this school if I lived in the Belgrano or Palermo area. I always carry the best memory of my time in their classrooms.

It's good academically, but it doesn't stand out either. In human terms, the garden is beautiful, the primary is very good and the secondary has the disadvantage of a small number of students, usually only one division by age and with 25-30 students ... so socially it is too much bounded. In English it is very good, but not sooo much either.

We went in June to write down our three-year-old son who, due to the pandemic, did not go to school during 2020 and this year he had only gone a month to another terrible garden like Andersen's. We received a thousand points, our son was happy. We toured the entire school, they told us about the future and the values. An extensive and very positive meeting. We went forward for a long month by sending him the pedagogical evaluation of the terrible Andersen garden, we told them how they were never interested in our son and they told us that they would have another warmth and they even told us the costs and we agreed with everything. They asked us for the cover letter and we sent everything and we arrived in August full of joy, we talked with our families and we told them that we had a new garden and we told our little boy that we were finally going back to school and having friends and having a normal life. Today they called us to tell us that they had bad news: they would not accept our son (and none of them) because the entire cabinet and teaching team would be dedicated to the return of presence and that they could not make the adaptation with our son (who never had a problem with adaptation because it is a love). Then they called me again to tell us that if we wanted to, I could go next year, to which we answered with unpleasant surprise that of course not. He struck us as brutally irresponsible, utterly unrepentant, and disrespectful to the slightest of decorum: never before have we ever been told that there was any chance that our three-year-old could not get in. A shame We were excited.
