About St. Kilian’s German School

St. Kilian’s German School/Eurocampus in Dublin welcomes girls and boys of all nationalities, cultures and religions. While we follow the Irish curriculum to Junior and Leaving Certificate we place a strong emphasis on the German Language and offer a parallel curriculum (Sek-I) to those students able to pursue a course in a limited number of subjects through German. Knowledge of German is not a requirement for enrolment in our Kindergarten, Primary or Secondary School (1st or 4th year).

Our modern and forward-thinking approach to teaching German allows pupils to learn the language in an effective and enjoyable manner – from the age of four in Kindergarten through to Leaving Certificate. As a result our students leave St. Kilian’s with a highly proficient standard of German above and beyond the demands of the Leaving Certificate; they have an excellent sense of self as young adults and can confidently take their place in universities in Ireland and abroad.

Our aim is to prepare students for life as citizens of Europe and to set targets for them which challenge their individual abilities. The establishment of the Eurocampus in 2001, when the Secondary School of the Lycée Français d’Irlande relocated to the St. Kilian’s Clonskeagh campus, was the first step towards providing a true European style education for Dublin. We are proud of the way our students go out into the world as articulate, confident and self-assured graduates of St. Kilian’s.

I was a student at St. Kilian's from first class all the way up to Leaving Cert and I couldn't have had a better experience. The staff really care about their students and always have their best interests at heart. I was given several opportunities to study abroad and improve my language skills. I made friends for life and will always look back at my time there with happy memories.

Great school and international community. The children are mixed with the students from the French school (LFI) during the Junior cycle. Our son who is now studying in Germany keeps visiting his friends in France, Switzerland, Austria and Ireland. A truly unique school that offers not only career guidance for Irish third-level education, but also German universities.

Our experience of this school has been excellent. School management and teachers very approachable and supportive. Online teaching experience of our kids was very good. The school has dealt very effectively with Covid and implementing the guidelines to keep our children safe. Has had a lot to deal with from deniers as evident in some of the comments below.

Mixed ideas. I used to love the school but the quality of education compared to other schools in Ireland and even abroad. Some teachers were really nice; Mr Earls for example, and even Herr Sundermann. But some choices made by administration were questionable.
