About Sri Dasmesh International School

Sri Dasmesh International School's underlying philosophy is ‘A school should not be a preparation for life, a school should be Life!’  – we are a school that vibrates enthusiasm, excitement and opportunity for each individual who walks through the school gates. Eager and joyful young learners are greeted with courtesy and personal care as they make their way around the school halls and walkways.

Opportunity for discovering the best in them waits at every turn, be it in their personal grooming, their language or their habits. Established in the year 2001 we are non-profit based and our fee structure is about the lowest amongst international schools in Malaysia. Effective January 2014, Sri Dasmesh International School is a full-fledged Cambridge International School offering the Cambridge curriculum, with students sitting for the IGCSE examinations (International General Certificate of Education) in Year 11.

I was a previous student of this school and had an extremely bad experience, the teachers never pushed the students and always found excuses to blame students for getting bad results even though it was mainly due to their teaching skills. The school also claims to be liberal with its mindset but in actuality many of the so called morals they teach stem from their misogynistic mindsets.

As a previous student of the school, I would say that this this school is definitely not the ideal learning environment for your child. The only reason some students that have written good reviews about the school is because, they get high results or, they are related to one of the teachers or the principal herself. I'll start off by addressing how the students are treated at school. If your child doesn't excel in their studies and get high grades, they treat your child like trash. They would constantly put down that child in front of the entire class and embarrass them. The teachers would mentally bully the child until their confidence level has dropped. It's almost like, they find satisfaction in seeing a weak child suffer. Secondly, they would ignore the child. Thirdly, almost every teacher is bias. A popular student can go out and break the rules without, having the fear of being suspended or expelled. However, if a normal student were to do that, they would take action and, suspend or give demerit points to the child. Almost all the prefects and student council in the school, are chosen by favouritism or popularity. Literally almost every prefect show no leadership qualities. Instead they are, lazy, boastful and rude(do keep in mind that, there still are some good prefects) As for the student council, they have no say in anything. The school gives all the opportunities to the prefects and none to the student council. All they do is plan events, according to the schools criteria, and can never do something different.Unfortunately, the student council have no say at all and are looked down upon.Even if they plan something and do the work, the prefects get the credit for it. As for the teachers, a lot of them don't know their material. Due to this, students have to take extra classes and tuitions. Some of them come in class unprepared and don't know what to teach. What is even more surprising is, some of them don't even have the qualifications to teach. They come into class and expect the student to understand everything from the textbook. If the student doesn't understand, they get angry and sideline the student. Sometimes, even if the student asks a question, they get mad and don't give an answer. At times, they humiliate the student. I've noticed teachers making many mistakes when it comes to teaching. Not forgetting, being an international school that does CIE, their English is just atrocious and horrible. However, there are some excellent teachers such as, Ms Dasha, Mr Rajinder, Ms Surjit and,Mr Siva. These teachers are the reason why this school is still functioning. Without them, the school would be gone. Not forgetting, the admin staff are unbelievably rude. Whenever visitors visit the school, the students are told to put on an act so that, they think highly of us. They bring out 7 habit banners to make the school look good. Once they leave, the banners go back in and, none of the students practice the 7 habits. The whole 7 habits facade is fake. No one in the school practices it, especially the staff. The 'lighthouse school' title should be stripped off because, they are all a huge bunch of hypocrites. They also broadcast the IGCSE and Checkpoint results to the whole school, including parents of students who didn't sit for the examinations. Now tell me, isn't that supposed to be something private? Would you want your childs results to be seen by the entire school? They take it a step further and only announce the students who have scored 6A's and above, leaving the rest of the students embarrassed and upset. The bathrooms are located right next to the canteen, where you can smell the disgusting toilet smells while eating the food. The food is expensive, cold and disgusting. Some students even find hair and insects in their food. They're also racist as they favour Punjabis more. The principal doesn't take feedback from the parents and does everything her way.To tie this all up, they are all hypocrites. I couldn't put my real name but, I wanted to get this message across.I hope this helps.

There are better schools out there in Malaysia and teach with the right teaching methods for cheaper fees. My children who have studied there have got a lot of information but as they were in the school longer, their creativeness has started to disappear. My children used to love singing, dancing, drawing and other arts. And the stress levels there are unbelievable. There was once when my son got soo much of homework, he fainted and we had to take him to the hospital because he normally doesn't faint. The doctor told that they had to do an MRI scan and they found some strange results. They said that he has even more stress than my husband and i get at work. The facilities can improve but what they have to do drastic is changing the canteen. The canteen is so unhygienic and students get food poisoning annually. Students have also found dead bugs in their meal a few times. My son has found a caterpillar in his food once. Toilets should also improve. They are also into academics but i will say too much. My children have learnt a lot of unnecessary work and they don't know that. Teachers have been found to be a lot more strict and if you break a small rule = demerit. If you don't do hw on time = detention. I feel these acts to make them discipline is not really acceptable for them. Sports is ok but sometimes things become brutal and children can't handle it. And hw needs to go extinct as well as exams and writing on paper as well. We shouldn't be doing this anymore i mean we live in the 21st century. An international school is what it is for a reason. It should be different from other schools and teaching methods should be different as well. Lemme tell you something else. The school will never stop fitting more work into your like. I might consider putting my children into a different school.

Sri Dasmesh is an amazing school that helps us become disciplined and focused leaders. This lighthouse school has a wonderful environment to learn in and the teachers there are extremely helpful and friendly.

Amazing school for child and human development where importance are given to values and character building. Yet humble about their achievements and not commercially driven for profits.

Sometimes local school is better than international.
