Rome International School was founded in 1988. The Middle School was opened in 2001 and the High School was inaugurated in 2007. IB Diploma authorisation was granted in May 2009 and full IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) authorisation followed in June 2012. We are now the only International School in Rome authorised to offer both the IB Primary Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme, thereby ensuring the quality and consistency of an international education and a passport to the best universities in the world. RIS was authorised to offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education in January 2013. In July 2014, the school relocated to its new tailor-built campus in Via Guglielmo Pecori Giraldi. The new building and campus is immersed in over 3 hectares of natural park and meets every learning and teaching requirement. RIS offers families the opportunity of an international education that is at once both academically challenging and individually rewarding.

Hello internet, I must say the teachers are of great skill and the building's infrastructure is splendid. So, normally I would give it five stars, but sadly. My child was very displeased in the school on the account of his classmates. Even though I complained on numerous occasions, the school didn't follow through. The Italian majority sticks together and discriminates foreigners. Skips the line during lunch, speaks in Italian during lessons, and picks on foreign kids. All the while the school sits idle and promises to fix my child's well being.

Be very careful! While school, teachers and overall environment are good, within two years the school fees increased from approx. 16,500 Euro / year in 2018 to approximately 25,000 Euro in 2020 in my case. That is an increase of 51%! The school is very good in attracting new student, but please be aware you can find yourself with a huge unexpected fee increase very quickly! While the school, the teachers and the general environment are in my opinion very good, the problem is that, at least in my case, the annual tuition has risen from around 16,500 Euros / year in 2018 to around 25,000 Euros in 2020. A 51% increase in just two years! And this in the midst of the most serious post-war economic crisis ... The school is very effective in attracting new students, but I highly recommend considering that within a year or two you may find yourself dealing with a huge increase in school fees, as has happened in my case.
