About Our Lady of Mercy School (OLM)
Our Lady of Mercy School (OLM) offers a warm and safe family atmosphere, and we educate students from two to eighteen years of age. Ours is a small, inclusive school, having just two classes per grade level. Our students feel highly cared for and valued, and we are proud of our strong program to support students’ social and emotional learning. Pre-School students and their families benefit from the close relationship and advice from our Wellness Coordinator.
From 1st Grade through 12th Grade, we offer Guidance Counselors, with one in each segment. Our academic results are excellent. OLM students graduate successfully and head to outstanding universities in the United States, Brazil and Europe, having benefited from our College Counselor who guides students so that they make informed choices about universities, courses on offer and destinations. Our curriculum complies with both American and Brazilian requirements.
From 1st to 12th Grade, project-based learning (PBL) puts the students firmly at the center of their educational experiences, with students working together to solve problems. We aim to prepare our students for a rapidly changing world, in which the 4Cs of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity will be the key skills required for them to continue to succeed.

I am a former student and my high school days spent at OLM were the best of times growing with family and making lifelong friends.
Graduated from OLM in 1972. It is a great school and I made life long lasting friends that have had an impact in my life
OLM was my HS from 1970 through the end of 1972. My dad, an Argentine Diplomat was transferred to Rio, & chose this Catholic School .9th, 10th & 11th years ,including PSAT , mainly taught me Christian values & all the knowledge my brain absorved during those years in all subjects , including, Portuguese. Will never forget Sister Jeremiah, Sister Rosalma, Sister Philip, Dona Lourdes. My dad was transferred to DC again where I became a HS Graduate at Saint Mary' s Academy. Due to the best education I had at OLM, I skipped College & applied to GEORGETOWN U. And in a year graduated as TRANSLATOR & SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETER IN SPANISH ,ENGLISH & PORTUGUESE. Was offered a post at UNITED NATIONS as Interpreter , but declined & came back to Buenos Aires. THANKS A LOT OLM & ALL MY TEACHERS . YOU WERE THE BEST & STILL ARE THE BEST AMERICAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN ALL BRAZIL.
