About Malherbe International School (MIS)

Malherbe International School (MIS) was founded in 1990 as a private co-educational day school to serve the needs of the international communities west of Paris. MIS is located in the Yvelines (78) region, easily accessible by public transportation. The school offers a rich cultural environment with approximately 160 students and over 25 nationalities. We welcome children between 2 and 11 years old.

They attain high standards of performance within a family like nurturing environment. During the past 30 years our ability to combine both French and English teaching techniques has enabled Malherbe International School pupils to move on to further education worldwide and adapt successfully.

Overall

Our daughter is currently at Malherbe for her second year. She is in year 1. She absolutely loves going to school and her improvements have impressed us. The teachers are fully engaged, and the PTA is also very very dynamic. Even during the lockdown, the teachers were very motivated, they gave several zoom sessions every day. We spent 6 years in London and our oldest daughters went to an outstanding British school. Compared with the London school, Malherbe follows the same program and the learning is very similar and the advantage is that the classes are small. (10 children per class for our daughter).

The children enjoyed a varied programme of events at the winter camp. The mixed age groups meant that the children were able to both help younger peers and learn from older ones, which creates independence at an early age. They loved the activities from baking to craft and songs and games. The staff are caring and responsive to their needs. Strongly recommended.

My daughter of 4 years old has spent one week every morning during winter camp in Malherbe school. She adapted very well since her teacher was really nice to her. She enjoyed doing paintings, drawings, playing outside with the other children. I warmly recommend this school !!!!

At first this school seems to have all the right elements of traditional French charm. Unfortunately it really is not worth the money and it is certainly oversold for what it offers compared to even some of the free schools in the area. Took my daughter out after 2 months when realizing things were not what they originally appeared to be. They had the cheek to ask for more money after already paying excessive registration fees and for the term.
