About Logos International School (LIS Phnom Penh)

Logos International School is a ministry of Asian Hope, which exists to reach Cambodia for Christ, largely by providing quality Christian education, to children of all socioeconomic levels. Logos is a fully-accredited member of both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Instruction is in English and follows an American curriculum.

Though a Christian school, with a strong Christian mission, Logos welcomes students from all faiths and nationalities. The Logos student body consists largely of Cambodian children and children of missionaries from various countries. Some of the twenty-five nationalities represented at Logos include Cambodian, American, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, Finnish, Canadian, Singaporean, Malaysian, and Australian.

Logos currently serves about 350 students, from PreK – 3 (three-year-olds) through 12th grade. Average class size is about 25. Our teachers are all native English speakers and largely from the United States or British Commonwealth countries. Each elementary grade also has at least one Khmer speaking Teaching Assistant.

The school also provides vibrant Arts and Physical Education programs, a professional Learning Support team, serving PreK to 12th grade, and an Interscholastic Athletics program for both girls and boys – basketball, volleyball & soccer. Logos’ sister school under the Asian Hope organization is the Asian Hope International School, offering bilingual (Khmer/English) instruction, designed primarily to meet the educational needs of local Khmer students.

A school more concerned with imposing a very Americanized, "Christian," yet ultimately deracinated boot stamp upon the heart and minds of students as opposed to the full totality of Christian intellectual tradition.

An incoherent blend of anti-intellectual evangelical Protestantism (forgive the redundancy) and stale, sterile secular curricula.

Logos opened its doors in September 2002 with an enrollment of 58 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to grade seven. At that time, Logos consisted of a single renovated house and an adjacent empty lot where a basketball court and small swimming pool were soon built. From that time, Logos added an additional grade level each year until it reached grade twelve. In the spring of 2008, Logos held its first graduation ceremony for 13 seniors.

This is more like a christian school because most students are christian children. Most of the teachers here come from North America but other countries are represented, as well. Cambodian teacher’s aides assist in the classroom and are mentored by the classroom teacher at the elementary level. Currently, Logos serves from pre-school to grade 12. The average class size is twenty-five students per grade. Due to its international standard program, the tuition fee is considerably high as well. However, there is also special discount for christian family.
