About Lantau International School (LIS)
Lantau International School was established in 1995. LIS is like no other school in Hong Kong. Nestled amidst the scenic splendour of South Lantau in three campuses, Cheung Sha (4,500sq/ft) , Tong Fuk (12,000sq/ft) and Pui O (9,000sq/ft), LIS operates 14 classes for a maximum intake of 320 pupils. The school boasts a unique balance between a Primary English education and the greenest environment of Hong Kong, in low rise buildings. At LIS, children will receive a well-rounded education of the highest standard where they can flourish both socially and academically. LIS. follows the British Curriculum.
The medium of teaching is the English language. LIS teachers hold post-graduates diplomas in the Primary Education sector and they are native English speakers. Lantau International School provides Mandarin classes as a second language with native Mainland speakers. All classrooms at both primary campuses are now equipped with Interactive Boards and in each class the teacher has the use of an ActivBoard. Each pupil is provided with a laptop for IT lessons, internet is available on each laptop.
All classrooms have wireless Internet access. After-school clubs activities are available during term and Lantau International School offers two Summer clubs in July and August. All campuses are served by school buses and public transport.

How would you rate Lantau International School (LIS)?
LIS is one amazing school with amazing teachers. Our daughters spent many years there until they moved to secondary. They learned a lot but mainly teachers' approach was very professional yet sensitive, they created a place of trust and a relaxed atmosphere where learning is fun. The location of the school is also great, right next to a beach. We loved having our kids there and can only recommend it.
As proud parents of two students, and a former pupil, my husband and I have only great things to say about our experience at Lantau International School. L.I.S´s teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are great about sharing moments of pride they see within your child – their good behaviours and achievements; they know the importance of getting the parents involved should a challenge arise and do it respectfully and in an approachable manner. I love that they are always available, offering us insights and guidance along the way, recognizing the important role we play in our children's education as parents. With its access to the beach, a sincere appreciation of the outdoors, and outstanding teachers, Lantau International School has created an incredible learning environment that has far exceeded our expectations. The school fosters well-rounded individuals who thrive both academically and emotionally. We could not be prouder of what our kids have achieved thus far. So much so that we look forward to the possibility of L.I.S. expanding to secondary education.
I have sent three kids to LIS over the years. The teachers and staff are excellent, warm, and attentive to the students and parents. The School's facilities are basic but compensates with care, devotion, and a nature-based & down-to-earth approach. I would recommend the school to anyone looking for a less "squared" approach to academics and a more caring, close relationship with teachers and staff.
Both my sons attended LIS and loved it; it's an excellent school. Friendly and approachable staff, small classes with great teacher:student ratios; wonderful settings and they even do PE on the beach. We received regular and timely communications from LIS regarding the general administration, school events etc. It has a great and welcoming atmosphere and the teachers were fantastic and did wonders for both my sons; both in terms of their academic and social development. I wholeheartedly recommend and endorse LIS!
The perfect environment for kids to grow up in a hectic city like Hong Kong. Set away in the south side of Lantau, kids can learn efficiently in classes of suitable sizes while keeping in touch with nature. My two daughters have attended primary there and performed pretty well in secondary school afterward. I highly recommend it.
Excellent school...had there been a better infrastructure for this school it ll be one of the best british schools in hk. Teacher and the student ratio is at its perfection.

My daughter went to Lantau International School in grades 3 and 4. The teachers did a good job and my daughter received a decent education. However, I found the school terribly disorganized. Communications with parents were either not existent or confusing. It was very hard to keep up to date with what was going on at that school. Any information was hard to come by. Even the billing for tuition fees was a mess and totally unreliable. I have never seen a more disorganized school ever in my life. I would never even think about sending my child there ever again.
