About Kiangsu & Chekiang School - International Section (KCIS)

At Kiangsu & Chekiang School - International Section (KCIS) we use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance from the UK for our Kindergarten and Reception year groups, which together form the Foundation Classes. Our classrooms are hives of activity; play based and explorative activities provide an environment rich with opportunities for creativity and hands-on learning. Our Primary 1 children also have a creative element to their learning and The National Curriculum (England) is adapted for Hong Kong so that studies of local history and geography can be included.

Mandarin has a strong presence in both curriculums and is taught daily in all classes. Kiangsu & Chekiang School staff are dedicated to providing a holistic education and to developing talents and learning from life experiences. We have a very enthusiastic group of teachers, recruited from around the world, who have high expectations for all our students. Information Technology is integrated across all areas of our teaching.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. We regularly update our IT facilities to provide for new advancing technology, classes from P1-P6 all have iPad access.

This school is ok, but the facilities are ancient and rusty. Some teachers are good but some are bad. A math teacher literally played some random math videos and asked us to learn from there. three-quarters of the class failed the final exam because of him. The toilets are really bad, there was poop all over the toilet seat and a student from the local section tried to jump off the building through the toilet window. Primary is really good but secondary gets worse.

Studied in the school for 16 years, from kindergarten to graduating in the class of 2016 with the IB Certificate. The school is a tight knit school where everyone knows one another, class sizes are small with the maximum of 25 students per class. Number of students in this school vary from 300-350 (secondary section from Year 7 to Year 13). Very enjoyable and approachable teachers. Since it is a small school everyone will know one another and with this experience, head prefects are easily approachable even if you are in a younger year, as everyone is friendly.

Not a good school. Both international section and band 3 local section. International section has fired all the good teachers. and the local section has teachers who dont even act like they teach. they need lots of help and the campus is falling apart
