About Hampton Court House (HCH)

Hampton Court House (HCH) is an independent co-educational school. We take children from Nursery (three year olds) to Year 13 (eighteen year olds). The Sixth Form opened in September 2015. All students are prepared for 13+ Common Entrance and/or scholarship examinations of the leading boys’ and girls’ schools, although most children elect to stay on to take their GCSEs and A levels at Hampton Court House.

Hampton Court House is situated in its own private parkland, a 30 to 40 minute drive from Central London or a 35 minute train journey from Waterloo Station.

It is important to us that children enjoy being here and look forward to coming to school. We wish to lay the foundations of a lifelong love of learning.

We believe that children need some (guided) freedom in order to develop their own style with taste and discretion. Pupils and staff have mutual respect for each other. The staff, including the Headmaster, are addressed by their first names. Whilst there is a dress code, there is no uniform.

I note the 1 star reviews here have no comments or just "Bad teachers" as if somebody got a bad grade recently, this does not make these very trustworthy in my opinion. Anyway I have one son there and another starting in September. My eldest loves it to the point of asking to go there on weekend. He is a normal kid and keeps surprising me with the new skills he brings home from school be it music, reading, art, baking, etc. The school feels very inclusive, it feels kind to the kids and parents, something you do not see often nowadays. We've seen lots of other schools, but have not find anything even close to this one. They actually seem to care about kids' mental health and well-being, not just ratings or results.

Beautiful venue with wonderful grounds and a lovely history. Main school building opens onto Bushy Park so if, for example, you're getting wed in the main school hall you may have deer watching on! The conservatory has wonderful fairy lights while its bold red dining room has high ceilings and a stage while the stunning gardens even have a patio area with a mediterranean feel (including palm trees), a strangely shell-lined grotto and a pretty lake. And it's a school. Lucky, lucky kids!

Like everyone else has confirmed, the experience in that school is wonderful. I left the school about a year ago and I really miss it so much.I wish my stay had lasted forever.

My son has been attending this school since the summer and I have only good things to say about the staff and his academic progress. What strikes me the most is the fantastic family atmosphere, it is completely conducive to learning. A place that encourages free-thinkers, leadership and innovation. I can see many of the children here going on to be at the top of their field not by following the traditional routes but by following their passions and thinking completely out of the box.
