British School Muscat (BSM) is Oman’s leading British school. Granted a Royal Charter by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in 1973, we are proud to be the only not-for-profit British school in Muscat providing high quality education to children aged 3-18.

Our GCSE results place BSM in the top 3 British International Schools in the Middle East and in the top 5% of independent and state schools in the UK. British School Muscat’s growing international reputation for excellence and innovation helps us to attract, retain and develop high quality UK trained teachers who are proud to work with our engaged, motivated and high achieving pupils.

To prepare our pupils for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead we value learning that focuses on high performance in public examinations, healthy living and well-being, character development and global citizenship. We call this approach the British School Muscat Learning Ethos and it underpins learning and teaching throughout our school.

Be very careful to enrol your child at BSM if it’s sensitive, inverted, or academically challenged. The bully culture starts from the teachers (not all of course) and many are struggling to fit in and thrive in the competitive environment. Unprofessional approach, no or lack of communication when it matters. Look elsewhere.

The teachers are unprofessional and unqualified both educationally and with their attitude and the teaching in BSM has never been worse. The teachers treat the children and parents in a very bad and unprofessional manner. The school management is also unprofessional. The information on their website is not related to the reality.

ive went to 6 schools in 13 years all over the world and gotta say this is the best. i attended from year 4-year 8 and the kids are really nice and the art department is great. i really miss it and wish i could come back to my friends and old house but i moved to russia a year ago and the international schools here suck and the kids are spoiled and do a lot of drugs and bsm is a lot lot nicer

I went British School Muscat for 5 years. It's a great school with funny teachers and I met all my best friends here! Top notch new facilities too. It's a shame my family eventually left the country, it's a great place to live.
