About Acorn House International School (AHI)

Acorn House International School (AHI) Rome has been providing quality education for children since 1999. We are an English-speaking international association with mother-tongue highly qualified teachers, and pride ourselves on being an inclusive schooling system which supports children according to their needs.

The school is also affiliated with primary schools and teacher training centres in the UK and in Italy, enabling us to keep up-to-date with curriculum and standards issues. We also provide a deep immersion into the Italian school system and culture, by following a stimulating bilingual English/ Italian curriculum that is developed around both curriculum requirements. Our children attend yearly government exams, in order to allow families the freedom of choice amongst two different learning paths, and support any possible sudden change that parents may encounter due to international work mobility and relocation.

Bad experience of management, very poor in sport. Academically it is good, depends which class and which teacher’s you are in.

Academically is good but too much homework and pressure on children, in order that at the end ,a part of them has too be done by parents. No attention of children needs. Usually they are even punished on based of injustice.

Dysfunctional set up. High staff turnover due to chronic mismanagement and bullying. High school fees for the parents and low pay plus awful conditions and contracts for the teachers. You and your kids might initially be dazzled by the nice setting and hard selling about "excellence" and the nice art work on display but it's all an elaborate show. It's very low standard school teaching a haphazard bilingual programme in inadequate, cramped classrooms and your kids will perhaps lose teachers mid-year due to the huge stress they are under trying to deliver a decent education to your kids amidst clueless management and modern-day wage slavery. Expensive rip off. Beware!

Excellent, Acorn House has been amazing all around and I would recommend the staff for any level. They are very caring and reach out to discuss things very promptly. I always felt like our daughter was in very good hands here. Our experience at Acorn House has been nothing short of wonderful. This school was really well prepared for the pandemic so students were able to transition as easily as possible - considering what was going on. Many other districts were not prepared as this one. Honorable mention, they currently deliver full-time Digital Integrated learning for those who cannot stay at school, as a safety measure. If you add this to the Online Lessons performed during the lockdown, you have an idea on how much you can trust this school.

I have attended this school for the past 10 years and I am still learning there to this day, it has given me unforgettable experiences from school plays to school trips to Malta; most importantly, though, it has given me my best friends and the itch for learning. This school is amazing and it really keeps you in touch with nature, unlike some schools which are cement buildings with almost no greenery. Thank you Acorn House for the best 10 years i could possibly imagine!

I attended Acorn House International School for eleven years from nursery to middle school, and looking back, I could not have wished for a better experience. It provided me with an excellent comprehensive education in both English and Italian. From the very beginning, I had the opportunity to learn from English mother-tongue teachers, who enabled me to quickly and naturally absorb the language in the best way possible. Following both the English and Italian curriculums requires hard work and discipline, but in my view it is definitely worth it. All the teachers were fantastic, not only for their abilities and qualifications, but also for the attention they gave to every single student, making sure that no-one was left behind. The school is situated in a healthy environment with lots of outdoor space and fresh air, which is also used to do many sports and social activities. The atmosphere is very positive: once you get to know everyone, it becomes like a big family where knowledge and respect for others form the foundations of school life. I know that the full marks in all subjects that I am currently obtaining in high school are also in part due to the excellent education I had at the Acorn House International School. I think it provides a brilliant start to life. It was sad leaving such a lovely place, but it is always a pleasure for me to pass by from time to time to visit the staff and teachers.

Our experience was very positive. We approached this structure by chance because of our friends who already frequented it and we were struck from the beginning by the beauty of the place ... A wonderful park of two hectares where I still remember our son crying, at the end of the talks with the management , because he didn't want to leave anymore! We signed up and did not regret it because it was the first time we met experienced but above all passionate teaching staff. Our children have learned to learn, through enthusiasm and passion. The school is bi-curricular, and although the number of hours of the Italian curriculum is small, the results of the exams were higher than the national average. The cost of tuition is half that of other international schools. Highly recommended

I have been in this school for the last 10 years, I must say that the academic system used in this structure has provided me with all the tools necessary to face the complex society that surrounds us today. All this was possible thanks to the highly qualified faculty that spreads their knowledge in ways that are always fun and original. However, from what I have noticed, pupils' learning does not take place only within the classes immersed in nature. Within the huge park, where it is possible to run free and unleash one's imagination, children try their hand at creating new games that enhance their creativity. Returning to the academic system, however, I believe that what really pushed me more than my peers is the incredible difficulty of the program. Having the double curriculum I can optimize the use of my time and speed up my entire learning process.
