Colegio Ábaco is a family-run, non-denominational bilingual school in Madrid, on Avenida de la Peseta. It is state-subsidised across most of its stages and privately funded in the first cycle of Early Years and in Bachillerato, and it is independent of any religious or political group. It holds official bilingual status from the Madrid regional authority and runs its own language immersion project: English starts at the age of one, and from the age of three roughly a third of the curriculum is delivered in it. The school takes children from the age of one through to the end of Bachillerato at eighteen, all within a single building divided into wings by stage, and it presents active methodologies, project-based learning and technology as the backbone of its educational project.

Information about the curricular adaptation of the Colegio Ábaco
The school treats support for diverse learners as a priority and works through a multi-level system aimed at each pupil reaching their potential, covering both special educational needs and high ability. A multidisciplinary Guidance Department made up of psychologists, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and special education teachers handles identification and draws up individual plans. Support is given one to one or in small groups, with methodology adapted to each pupil's profile, and the department also runs enrichment programmes and personalised tutoring. Teachers are supported in cases of dyslexia, ADHD, high ability and other educational needs.

The after-school programme runs for the whole school community and is also open to children from outside the school. The current offer covers a sports club, a music school, languages, robotics, and art and drama. Enrolment opens for the new academic year and withdrawal from an activity has to be requested in writing to the school office before the twentieth of each month.

Teaching takes place in a single building of more than sixteen thousand square metres of built space, split into wings for Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Bachillerato. Classrooms are glazed and bright. Early Years has its own entrance and a dedicated yard with cushioned flooring, a sand pit and wide awnings. Older pupils work in laboratories, STEAM classrooms, art and technology spaces and a library, and the assembly hall hosts concerts, performances and cultural events. Sport is covered by an indoor sports hall, a heated pool, sports rooms and outdoor courts, and there is a school vegetable garden.
