Information about the educational stages of the 5 Steps Academy

The elementary programme, for children aged 5 to 12, is Cambridge-based and covers English, mathematics, science, Chinese, health, coding and robotics. The secondary programme (ages 11 to 17) includes English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, economics, English literature, history, art history, geography and health, with computer science as an option. High school starts in Grade 9: every student sits at least five IGCSE subjects in Grade 10, and Grades 11 and 12 follow either a UK stream with Cambridge A Levels or a US stream with SAT and AP exams. The school is an official test centre for SAT, AP, IGCSE and A Levels, so students sit these exams on campus.

Each student chooses one co-curricular activity per day. The options include ceramics and creative arts, speech and drama, guitar lessons in groups or one to one, chess with tournament preparation, coding in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C# and Python, robotics and 3D printing, Kyokushin karate taught by the head of school in the school gym, and gymnastics. Students also do community service each year, such as free maths tutoring for less fortunate children and visits to nursing homes and orphanages.

Very good International school, all the teachers are very cooperative . The school Principal is highly qualified with PHD in mathematics and Masters in Child psychology. Student and teacher ratio is just 7-9 kids which is actually very good. All students get very good attention from the teachers. School hours are also very good
