Sadly a school that promotes old-times practices such as sexism and racism. Some teachers seem to take at heart to bother the students with the way they wear their uniform and sport their hair instead of focusing on their general behavior and learning. What a poor example for a school which pretends to prepare "future leaders". No communication with the parents, our kid had had a very hard time and was on the verge on depression. Parents are are given no information about how the fees are used, nor all the money that is constantly exorted from students for "special days", - another occasion to shame the students when they don't feel like participating in these optional events - when there are numerous classes that can't be conducted properly because of the lack of equipment.

Great place in the 80s. Educated me well. I should have listened to my teachers more though!

It is the best high school in Blantyre. However, in the past, the staff seem to believe it is run for their benefit rather than for the paying clients. I sincerely hope that the attitude has changed

This school has deteriorated greatly in recent years; the family atmosphere which used to bond the school community together has been lost. The management is led by a headmaster who is only interested in vanity projects which increase his own profile. The management is obsessed with discredited British methods of profiling students at the expense of real relationships. Others at the high table are more interested in building up their own income whilst doing as little work as possible than in supporting students. What an example! In these comments above, the disingenuous headmaster Smith has modestly awarded his own school 5 stars, one of the few who have. He is deluded and looking through rose colored spectacles. The sooner he moves back to his own country to advance his career at the expense of British students rather than Malawians, the better. The people overseeing the institution are a collection of worthy Malawians who meet after dark once every couple of months (when they can remember to show up) who create a facade for the governing body - whilst those actually running the show are a small coterie of urine-soaked geriatric colonials. This self-perpetuating group make the decisions based on prejudice, hearsay, tittle-tattle and vague recollections of the worst of last century British public school practice. Blantyre deserves so much better than this and as soon as a competitor school is established, the sooner this school will disappear.
