How would you rate Mougins School?
I'm a former pupil, I was at this school for 3 years. The school is very clean with a forest next to it the inside is quite clean always smelling good and fresh. my first year there in 2016 there was a maths teacher who had severe anger issues, she would insult us and make us take extra lessons from her which costed 20€ as if the school isn’t expensive enough?! When it comes to the kids they are spoiled mafia kids who only talk about money and their fathers belongings. 12 year olds wearing tacky clothes from luxury brands and brag about it to their friends. The older ones post on social media, I'm in no place to critique someone parenting but who buys a their daughter a Porsche or a Bentley for their first car? Very negative environment for your kids to be around. School is way too expensive for what it offers, teachers are quite bad especially English and drama department. Solely focused on exams IGCSE’s and A Levels. They barely teach anything and expect you to get good grades. they handled the covid situation very poorly not because the school was unhygienic but because of the online classes and the grade booster exams they did after canceling the a levels. the drama teacher didn't care about creativity or acting only cared about doing what the curriculum told them to do. the english teacher was quite aggressive with a weird attitude, saying things that would make kids uncomfortable. old history teacher was fired because of an affair they had with a student. the extracurricular activities were quite inadequate as well especially choir, there was favoritism towards one of the older students. the choir had some shows which were all horrible because no one taught any of those kids how to sing. when the school was sold to globeducate new staff came in. a bald guy who was quite strange also had an affair with one of the teachers. very unprofessional teachers the school is like a playground. although sports was quite good i did some sports i never thought id do. sports teachers were good and qualified. the nurse was very kind i don’t know why the other reviews are bashing her she gave me great mental health advice and support she might be one of the few good things about this school! don’t send your kids here they are money oriented not education including the families and students. hope this was enough to answer all your questions.
Some incredible hard working and fantastic teachers who are dedicated and hardworking. There is a very small minority who are not inclusive when it comes to all their students especially when they are new in the more senior years but they have been at the school forever - so it's probably the norm. Facilities and sports are constantly evolving. Students are encouraged to become active members of their communities and to volunteer or participate in community functions. Superb community of dedicated parents and all functions are well planned.
A human scale school with kind and caring teachers. Children gain self-confidence in a positive environment. Beautiful trees all around the school.
Very bad value for money. Teaching poor, facilities dated, no communication.
Unfortunately the school staff is constantly changing. The quality is not actuality. The courses offered are not up to international modern standards. Math, science, informatiques, business, economic classes are non existent or simply far from up to par. Very disappointed.

4 of the 5 years my teenagers have attended Mougins school were acceptable to poor. This current year we have seen big improvement. Under new management the school should become the amazing 5 star school it should be.
The Mougins School is an amazing place for kids to spend their high school years. If student supply themselves, they will learn and thrive here. Don’t listen to the negative reviews, these people are by and large malcontents who have nothing else to do with their time than put down a fine institution.
I moved here two years ago from the US with my husband and daughter who has since enjoyed two years of happiness in a safe and nurturing environment. She is excited for the next two years of A-levels with smart and interesting friends from all over the world. We are quite fortunate. Our new headmaster has done a stellar job in his first year. Backed by a teaching career in history and drama, followed by several years at the administrative level at international schools, he has an open door policy that both my husband and I have exercised and, as a result, witnessed positive outcomes. Coming from the US where sports are well integrated into the schools, I was surprised by the lack of non-football (soccer) programs. But In France this is not atypical. French families enroll their kids in the extensive village programs. It’s a great way for students to integrate into French society and practice the language. Since my daughter is more reserved and prefers English, I proposed to the school that I start a girls badminton team. With the full support of the administration, the team is up and running and will have their first competition with the nearby international schools next week. Such fun! When we first toured the school a few years ago, I asked a student who happened to be passing by, what he liked most about the school. He responded, “The teachers care and the bathrooms are clean.” How true!
À small school with a culture of care and respect amongst teachers and children! Confident, kind and open Kidsfotogen across all age groups! There is still space to further improve but new head and management board have already brought much progress and continue pursuing their ambitious goals! Towards GCSEs and A-Levels limited subject choice due to its small size (500 students from reception to Form13.
Don't send your child there if you are looking for A/AS level. Rigged system and academically low. Certain subjects are on a low level like Humanities (History, Geography). Core subjects are weak (English/Maths). Favoritism to certain students mainly kids of staff. Bullying rife. not value of money. Focusing on making money out of the parents without any good services in exchange. Inexperienced Head and weak management. Some teachers unqualified and need to go but they don't. After Brexit, difficulties surrounding the school. Globeducate the owner of all schools in the region of Cote D'Azur.

It is a school with many issues although it looks promising from outside. In reality, it has a PTA head who has been there since four years just with the approval of limited number of school parents and certain group of teachers. Favoritism is the main address of the school. Don't depend on a fair treatment or organized system available. Not recommended in the cote D'azur (South of France). Headmaster with no experience and only cares to achieve Glodeducate Financial targets.
PTA of that school is really Rotten, favoritism to certain students. Academically is low. Sports are on low level. Some teachers are not qualified and needs training. Over-employment and teachers contracts have to be reviewed. Most of students leave after GCSEs. If you are looking for a British system, don't search in the south of France, either you go directly to UK or swap to the US system from Form 9. School marketing only for social activities and facilities. Core subjects are very weak.
One of the worst in the South of France, still working with the old system of the retired headmaster. Five headmasters left the school before being sold. All buildings are rented and not owned or fire alarm prepared by the new owner Globeducate. Biased system favor of sons and daughters of the teachers. Be prepared to pay euros 20,000/student a year and another tutoring fees in case your son/daughter needs help. Poor management. Disorganized staff and rotten PTA. Not recommended if you are moving to the Cote D'Azur.
One of the worst schools in the south of France, really overpriced and bad management of the COVID matters. Incapable nurse at the school, families are not informed when there are any COVID cases in class not even with an email. Cafeteria food is really bad and not hygienic. Arrogant teachers and zero capability of listening.
You will face a high fees once registered (range 15-20 Thousands Euros). Low level of English despite it is a British school due to the incapable and low quality of English teachers. French language and Technology are on a low level. No Internet or tablets provided. Science Teachers are very good however in the secondary they don't offer Triple Sciences it is only combined (2 GCSEs). Rigged system somehow and biased without any fairness or proper evaluation due to unorganized and weak management. Health matters are a disaster specially in the times of COVID. The School nurse is incapable and lacks communication with the parents. Not recommended if you are looking for a proper school in the south of France.
The change of direction is good for the school! Nestled in a green setting, the school brings a lot to our children both academically and socially. We highly recommend it!
Beautiful campus, great new leadership with ambition and energy, on a steep upward curve in professionalism. Rome has not been build in one day but the school is clearly moving into the right direction. Hope the investor will continue to support the new leadership. Kids in Primary and Middle School are very well balanced, not busy with materialism but really supportive to one another. Diversity is allowed and encouraged! They learn well for the pleasure of learning! Most teachers do not just do their job but truly care about their students. In upper school, there is still room for improvement, but new application guidance and career counselling are going into the right direction. Strongly recommend to Primary and Middle School Kids... and until they will tackle upper school, with the help of the new leadership, they'll be great! (Ref to former posts: The fact that teachers leave is normal school business and very frustrating to all. I trust the school finding a new ICT teacher quickly!)
School is poorly managed with a lot of attention to public relations issues and not focusing on teaching at all. The quality of English teachers is appalling, unacceptable for a British school. ICT & computer science teacher left overnight and hasn't been replaced greatly damaging all the students who have to take their GCSEs exams. The new group owners of the school are only interested in making money. Note that the current owners are the same who owns (ICS, ISN & Mougins) all in the Cote D'Azur (French Riviera).
Not a proper school, English level is a disaster, French level is very low. Academically far behind and expensive to its level. Teachers leave in the middle of the course and lots of students are screwed. Think carefully before moving there.
Academically is very poor, quality of teachers especially english level is very low. No follow up with parents except when you get surprised by reports at the end of each semester. Think 100 times before joining given the exit of England from Europe.
Beautiful campus in the south of France but with lots of problems. Potentially could be better but this is not the case. Overpriced to your expectations. Low quality of English teachers although it is a British school. Not recommended for many reasons: poorly managed, unorganized, poor level of languages, unclear roles of PTA for some parents and only doing things for their own interest. Technology not up to the level of nowadays especially accessing to the internet for students, copying somehow the International School of Monaco (ISM), the group who bought the school focusing on making money rather than academics. Do not get impressed by the facility and parents coffee mornings as this will not help your child. Lost a deputy head and another head of school with excellent capabilities given all of the above mentioned.
A school with too many problems, weak management and unclear roles of PTA people (who are parents at school acting as if they are the head or director of the school, only working for their own interests). Think twice before taking your child there, don't get impressed by the facilities given that it is in the south of France (Cote D'Azur), academics on a low level not up to the expectations especially languages (English & French), teachers quality is an issue. Biased system and rigged towards sons and daughters of school staff. Most of teachers did not get any training since years or how to deal with children and motivate them.
The school has management issues and in one year they changed 4 headmasters. Until the school were sold to Globeducate which only focuses on financial matters and how to achieve the most profits than academic benefits for the students. There is also a problem of the Brexit, so if you are planning to move to the south of France, don't choose to join an English school in France. Another thing, system inside is mainly rigged as it is in favor of the sons and daughters of the school stuff. No fairness and biased. The current head of the school in too young to handle such position means not enough experience to manage. Racism and bullying matters are existing in that school, unfortunately in today's world which still is a fact undeniably.
Great School because it feels like a big family!
Beautiful campus in lovely part of the world. I am sure it was good in the past, not so now. 5 changes of Head in last 18 months. Deputy Head and Head of Sixth Form were amazing and have both left the school. Excellent teachers left in July 2020. New teachers started from UK in September and did not return in January 2021. Teaching not up to date with English National Curriculum in Primary. When help is asked for, the response is to pay teachers privately for tuition on top of high school fees. Apparently it has been bought by a schools group now. My children no longer there, I hope it improves for those who are.

I attended Mougins School from 4 till 15 (I'm now turning 30). I absolutely loved my experience there; it genuinely felt like a family. Independent thought was always encouraged, the environment was incredibly nurturing, and it was set in a really beautiful location. I will always have incredibly fond memories of my time at Mougins.

for 1 whole school year I parked and like all parents in the same place to leave my child in the School because no one will take responsibility for their children if you do not see your child entering inside this School no one takes no zero care with your child they do not even know our kids, they're not even interested. . and today came a man very bald mentally ill and very soul Attention no was the security guy , he just fought with me because of the bentley he said that all the Peugeot fiat cars all popular cars can park there but expensive cars like bentley andC&O nooooo !!!! he attacked me a lot with strong words that rich people have nothing to look for in this school I was very shocked because for a whole of year we all parents parking in the same place and today this poor soul I speak poor soul because is not financial question is his souls very bad really poor guy i know he don't have a hair i know why!!!sorry for this poor soul in our world ...
