Enrolling my daughter at the International Bilingual Montessori School 'Etre et découvrir' has been a wonderful experience. The educators are kind and attentive, and they helped my daughter build her self-confidence throughout the year. The school's small size and beautiful setting create a nurturing environment for learning. The head teacher's charisma and valuable feedback to parents make the school even more exceptional. I highly recommend 'Etre et découvrir' for its holistic approach to education. Our 4-year-old son is in his second year at Être et Découvrir and he loves it. The school is situated on the grounds of a beautiful château in a lovely village. As a fully anglophone family we were a little worried that a bilingual environment might allow our son to get by speaking English without learning and becoming comfortable speaking French. After his first year in this bilingual Montessori environment, he is not only comfortable and confident in his language skills, but we've noticed him proactively seeking out opportunities to speak French outside of school. It's a very diverse group of children who all seem to get along quite well. The teachers are caring and responsive, and the community of parents has been a huge positive that we weren't expecting. We plan to enrol our youngest son in the toddler program when he turns two without hesitation.
The Montessori school is what we wanted for our daughter. It’s the second year for her and I remember last year, after a few months at this school she started to help more, to share with others and she was more confident. The educators are wonderful and full of energy. They encourage children to explore, to develop their independence and to express their feelings. I highly recommend this school
My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time at Être & Découvrir. The Montessori philosophy is ingrained in every aspect of the school and the teachers have helped her ease into the school extremely quickly. I highly recommend this international, bilingual school, where your child will be able to grow and develop to his/her full potential.
A great small international school! Very positive environment and located in amazing area - close to nature! Very caring teachers. Excellent for adapting foreign children.
The school is great, our child is super happy with the Montessori approach. The school is very well equipped, the teachers are kind and welcoming. There is multilingual environment, children coming from different countries which is great! Beautiful sourroundings: garden, chateau.. The school is private and you need to pay the fees, but its much worth it!
Very great school. Our child is in the school for the second year and he is super happy and totally changes his beahaviour compare to public school. It is a real happiness to see him going there and learn a lot every day ! Hopeffully he can study there for a long time :)
It is in a beautiful environment and the headmistress is amazing. She really cares for her school and all the children. The teachers are very gentle but strict. I absolutely recommend this school, only thing missing is a gymnasium for sports and a swimming pool...
If you’re looking for a great bilingual primary school following the Montessori methods, we highly recommend Être & Découvrir. The team is very competent, warm and cheerful and the school is located in a beautiful setting. Our son had a fantastic time at this school!
Both my daughters Sophia and Aya attended Etre et Découvrir's 3 to 6 bilingual class. We have been there since we returned from Thailand in 2014 until 2020. My eldest was first enrolled, and we were so pleased that we did not even think of putting our youngest daughter anywhere else. The teachers, Camilla and Babette, were amazing, very dedicated to students, and took the time to know and work with each child. The small community creates a family environment that is great for the kids and the parents. We found that the teaching methods and values given to the kids in the Montessori system are fantastic, and children are eager and excited to go to school. They study topics from broad ranges and we were happily surprised by what are children knew. Along with this, the children have access to a magnificent gardens where they can play and learn about nature. They were encouraged to love nature and learn about gardening and biodiversity. Both my daughters can name plants and animals/bugs, and have developed a passion for nature and gardening in Etre et Découvrir. Children are so lucky to be in such an environment, we truly recommend it!
Our daughter went to Etre et Découvrir Ecole International Bilingual Montessori School in 2017/2018 academic year, when we transferred to work in Paris. She was four years old at the time and turned five during the year at the time of our move back. Within that year we have seen a positive transformation in her levels of confidence, problem-solving, general knowledge, and school preparation skills. Our daughter is now bilingual in English and French thanks to her time at the school. Director and Teachers are friendly and enthusiastic, school concerts encourage learning and creativity. The school is very well-equipped with Montessori materials and is in a tranquil and beautiful setting. We have developed friendships with other families, which made us feel welcome during the year abroad. We can recommend the school without hesitation.
My two daughters were at "Etre et découvrir" for 5 and 4 years. They would have stayed until the end of high school if this possiblilty! We all miss the family atmosphere of this school which we highly recommend.
Having moved to France from England, it was important to me that the children continued their English education as well as learning French. This school is perfect for a bilingual education, after 4 years both my children were reading, writing and speaking French happily. The teachers are fantastic and really care about the well being of each child. It is a very nurturing environment which encourages and promotes self confidence and autonomy. We saw these qualities flourish in our girls from being at this school and it has prepared them well for their next steps on in life. A very memorable school experience. We miss you all!
My daughter attended Être et découvrir for 3 years between the age of 3-6. In those 3 years, she established life long friends, acquired both English and French as a native, and most importantly a love for learning. The transformation she went through from being a shy 3 year old to a curious, confident 6 year old was amazing. I recommend the school highly for any parent that wants their children to acquire the skills of the future.
Our daughter spent 3 years in “Ecole Etre et Découvrir » in St nom la Bretèche just before her First class (CP). It is an excellent school not only for the Montessori Education, but also for the bilingual education. We owe to this school and especially to Camilla, our daughter’s English skills. After two years in “Ecole Etre et Découvrir”, our daughter was already completely bilingual even with no native English parents at home. She is now in primary school in one of the best French/ English Bilingual schools in Paris area. The teachers, administration and parent community are kind, knowledgeable and loving with everyone. The environment is healthy and makes the child feel secure and happy. I highly recommend this school for parents who want their children to have a heartwarming childhood.

Super école avec une équipe pédagogique très à l écoute des besoins de l enfant. Et une directrice qui connaît parfaitement tous les enfants et donne de très bons conseils.

Cette école à taille très humaine, chaleureuse et très professionnelle a su s'adapter aux besoins de notre fille. L'équipe a su l'aider et la transformer, lui donner confiance et d'excellentes bases pour ses années à venir. Vraiment très satisfaits.

"Ma fille a fait toute sa scolarité primaire à « Etre et découvrir ». Pendant ces 5 années, elle s’est épanoui tout en développant son autonomie, sa créativité, son gout d’apprendre et sa capacité à travailler en groupe. De plus, elle a acquis un excellent niveau d’Anglais. Elle a intégré la sixième sans aucune difficulté, comme si elle avait toujours évolué dans un système « classique ». Tous les fondamentaux étaient acquis grâce aux éducatrices qui l’ont très bien préparée à s’intégrer dans le système classique, tant au niveau des apprentissages que de la méthodologie. « Etre et découvrir » restera un moment important de sa vie".
