A kind community surrounds this school, however it holds all the trapping of any International School in Kenya high fees and teachers on a holiday. Bringing in expat teachers who tend to have no real investment in teaching other than a yearning for the expat way of life. There is a constant change of headteacher and the current headteacher saw fit with my ex husband to enter my son into the IGCSE shambles of this 2020 year despite my written request before the cut off date to withdraw him. Chauvinism and devastating on my son who at Mocks received an A and was marked down by said school to a C. HOW IS THIS EVEN LEGAL? Food often gives food poisoning, slow to inform of decisions; school felt it okay to not to reply to my frequent and early (* two years) requests for my elder son to know if they were to continue A-levels-- THEY INFORMED ME AT HIS MOCK RESULTS NO A-LEVELS-- HOW DOES THAT GIVE ANYTIME TO PREPARE SECONDARY ALTERNATIVE AVENUES????Refusal to take into account a written withdrawal. Devastatingly prosaic inefficient and with my daughter, age eight that amazingly talented little girl was swept into a banal existence under their radar despite being a published author, and artist, and brilliant little scientist. The only thing this school has going for it is its diversity of pupils and a beautiful set of parents and a few good teachers. Long bus rides, with longer homework bringing pupils days to 16 hours-- especially from Kilifi. Horrible uniforms that are made of polyester in coastal heat. Such a shame, no marine studies. chauvinism, poor pastoral care. Not enough pupils in secondary for sports teams, shame no water sports. No use of location for a less in the box approach more outdoors. Absolutely a shambles, parents are called constantly as so few pupils, pupils are rarely listened to forced to do clubs so their bus schedules work out leaving the furthest located children to wait an hour to get home at six up at five am. Ridiculous-- also thanks for entering my son illegally against consent into the IGCSE exams, dumping the other wow would do much better anywhere else.

My kids and I like Braeburn. We moved to the Mombasa area last summer from the UK. All of my kids made friends quickly. The teachers and staff are all friendly. Most, if not all of the kids that I met were nice and polite. While the road to school needs fixed, the school has been doing what they can and were told it is slated to be paved...either way the road shouldn't count against them. There is nothing wrong with their facilities. It is a great school.

Do not send your kids here! Revert to Aga Khan or Oshwal, just not Braeburn. They lack a decent selection in teachers and chose to invest in their pockets rather than fixing the roads or building better facilities for the children to use, whereas Agakhan have a much better infrastructure. Do not be deceived by the ratings above as they are a result of teachers & members of the school.
