Overall

Unless you are an honour roll student, this school isn't for you. There is a very strict divide between the 'smart' people and those who aren't currently excelling. Teachers can be outright horrible and unfair. In terms of Coronavirus, the school did not put in any strict measures until the government enforced them. Even now (Oct 1 2020) there is no social distancing and there is little enforcement of masks. There is a strict dress code, where you can wear MAGA hats but not anything supporting BLM. The counselling service ranges from relatively ok to outright horrible.

I went to ASH when it was still in The Hague from 9th - 12th grade and graduated in 1977!!! I truly believe my education at ASH is responsible for my success in life...so many fond memories!!!

Taken 3 AP exams in 2018 there. Very organized and the teachers were very friendly. Because I arrived very early, one teacher showed me around the school and it looked very nice. If you are taking the AP's or some other exam, just make sure you arrive on time since you might get lost on your way.

I went to this school from 4th-6th grade. I thought it was quite alright, I struggled with ADHD and social anxiety, (Which made it incredibly difficult for me to talk to other people sometimes, even my closest friends) But with 2 years of Occupational therapy from this school I have improved so much! Students at this school are taught dutch in elementary school, which is something most schools don't do! I was able to study both dutch and spanish while going to this school. Students also have a block schedule that includes: Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, P.E, and some electives like Music and Art. Any student who takes part in music can either play an instrument (I played the Cello) Or sing take part in choir (I did this as well for a few years) The school also has electives like: Art, Home Economics,Informational Technology, etc.
